The Queen turned to the King, her mouth opening to argue, but his raised hand silenced her. Damien’s shadow fell over me as he crouched slightly, his voice low enough for only me to hear. “Don’t look, little flame,” he murmured, the words gentle despite the tension in his tone. “You don’t need to see this.” The trapdoors fell with a sickening thud. My father, my mother, my brother—gone. A scream tore from my throat, raw and uncontrollable. I collapsed to the ground, my legs giving out beneath me. I didn’t need to see it; the sound alone was enough to shatter what was left of my heart.

I turned to see a guy walking towards me, he had a fine look and was of moderate height. "Hi," he said smiling at me. "Hi" I answered as I managed to smile back. "Can I join you for work?" he asked. I just shuddered because, though I was tired and all, I could use a little chitchat. After some time I got to know his name was Jake and a final year student. he said he liked my personality and wondered if we could go out on a date. I was about replying him when I felt someone's hand wrapped around my waist and when I turned to see who it was, it was Damian.

A group of four friends who loved hanging out for an insane number of hours in the evenings to pop bear kept throwing arguments about the top one news in New Jersey. “Son of bitches. Thank God my father wasn't this useless. relieve him of his balls.” Damian whispered above his voice, dragged the last pinch of his cigarette and dumped the stump, stamping his feet to put off the fire. “Any useful information yet?” he demanded raising a brow. One just had to say yes to his every demand or get punched in the face. Damian never takes no for an answer, one just had to find a way to incorporate a yes in his/her responses to Damian’s demands or questions.

I did not understand how hard it was going to be for us to be able to cope with all of this at once. Damon’s voice still rang in my ears. Steady. Strong. But I could hear the ache under it, the grief that clung to each word. The fire he spoke with wasn’t just fury, it was heartbreak. It was the sound of a man who had been torn open and was trying to stitch himself back together in front of everyone. It sounded like a man who was doing his best not to show weakness because he needed everyone around him to stand strong. And despite his pain, despite his agony and anger, he stood.

“We need eyes in his alliances. The packs that owe him fealty. The ones that trade through his borders. I want every den, every crossing point, every hidden route marked. He can hide from me, but he can’t hide from what’s loyal to him. I’ll find her through them.” Damian hesitated. “And if you do? Have you thought of what you would do if she willingly went to him, Liam? I understand that you want to believe that she didn’t, but my question is, if she did. What are you going to do about it? Because it seems to me that you are not thinking clearly when it comes to that.”

Damian said, with a sad smile on his face as he picked up a cigarette stick and lit it to smoke. "Who is that, bro? Fill me in? Is she pretty? You know I have been out of the country for six years," Henry ranted as he wore a black clothing too. Despite he was a medical doctor, he attended the same school as Damian, Jonathan, and a few other guys. "Who else? She is a nurse, but I do not want her again. I will settle for her friend," Damian said, taking his cigarette to his lips and pulling a heavy drag from it, puffing it into the air.

They immediately got out of the pool when they saw him entering the room. Every single one of them was tall with a model-like physique. Their faces even had resemblances to certain celebrities. He recognized these people as the current representative gamers of Team XS. They approached him while drying their wet hair at the same time. A ruffian-looking youngster reached his hand out to Leon first. “Hi, it's nice to meet you. I’m Damien, the Jungler on the team. My ID in the game is Mo.” Damien was the top-ranked Jungler in League of Legends. Of course, he knew of him.

I laughed because I grew up with the future alpha, Damian. He is my best friend and occasionally we have kissed but I am keeping my virginity for my mate. Damian is 6’ 8” of solid muscle, short black hair, a tribal tattoo from his chest to his shoulder around his neck and arm and across this back. He is a walking sex on a stick with piercing bright blue eyes. His temper does match his bad boy look but has always had a sweet spot for me. I know I have always caught his eye. Being 5’ 7” slender and toned body with waist dark wavy hair and emerald green eyes, I tend to catch a few guys eyes. However I think most of them think they will get the position of beta so I tend to ignore them.

She kept her head high, her face neutral, but her heart pounded so hard it felt like it might explode. Inside, the conference room was cool and quiet—at least for now. Rows of reporters filled the seats, cameras ready, pens poised. Damian took the podium, his expression as calm and controlled as ever. Sienna stood slightly behind him, her hands clasped tightly in front of her. “Thank you all for coming,” Damian began. His voice was smooth, steady. “I want to address the rumors directly.” The room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. “Yes,” Damian continued, “I have a son. His name is Julian Blake. He is five years old. And he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
