she said with a bit of angst.
“You’re a beautiful woman who is my daughter,” he grumbled.
Smiling, she went behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I will be fine, pop,” she said in a soft tone as she kissed the top of his balding head. “Trust me.”
“Well, you must eat before you go,” Viviane insisted as she stood up to prepare a plate for Eliza.
A strong appreciator of breakfast, Eliza was surprised to realize that she wasn’t the least bit hungry. In fact, she felt full.
