Sensing the weight of his burden, Chloe approached and embraced his waist. "It's been a while since I cooked for you. What do you feel like eating? Just tell me," she said. "I said I’d cook today. Do you not believe me?" Joseph patted her hand, his handsome face returning to its usual calmness. "Just wait." She raised her head and looked into his deep eyes, offering him a smile. "Okay." It turned out that someone who could build and strengthen a business would also have great cooking skills. There was fruit salad, grilled fish, braised pig's trotters, stir-fried asparagus, and corn soup.

They suit each other. We were now home at the penthouse. Josh had insisted on cooking a meal since he was a chef by profession and I let him. I was sitting on the couch with my sister laying her head on my lap, asking me to feed her chips. I thought she would stop troubling me once she found her mate, boy was I wrong. The sound of someone entering the pin at the door reached my ears followed by the scent of raspberries and chocolate hitting my nose, making my heart race.

Shawn placed a slice of steak into his mouth and said, “Send my compliments to the chef, she isn’t as good as the majordomo but it’s good.” Joshua rolled his eyes as he covered himself with the blanket, “I need to go on a diet.” “Why? You look fine to me,” Shawn said. Joshua forced a smile, “Really? Well, I feel like shit, my womb is still swollen and all.” “You just need to rest Joshua,” Shawn said. “Mn,” Joshua hummed and closed his eyes making himself comfortable. “All you do is eat,” Joshua complained. Shawn licked his finger, “Yes, but I don’t gain weight, I’m all muscle.”

Pete saw him looking at tense and confused as if something was bothering him. He didn’t know if Josh was in a mood to talk to him or not or if he should go and ask him. He pondered for a while before going to the kitchen. He could bring him coffee and snacks but right then he saw Josh entering the kitchen, pulling an apron over his head. “Okay, I have this recipe with me. I have put copies on your stations. I will demonstrate and you have to prepare it. It doesn’t take more than half an hour to prepare from scratch, but the measurement counts.

“That’s not cooked yet!” He chewed, then smiled with satisfaction. “Tastes fine to me.” Snatching the spoon back, Ivy scowled. “You could get sick eating half-raw ingredients.” Joshua just laughed. “You’re paranoid. My taste buds don’t lie.” Ivy rolled her eyes. “You are so—” “—charming?” he cut in, flashing a mischievous grin. She let out a reluctant laugh. “Annoying.” Their playful bickering carried on as they cooked. Ivy was shocked to discover Joshua liked to dump extra chili flakes into his plate, even though he never had the stomach for spicy food.

“To me, husband and wife should be equals. I won’t pamper my husband like he’s a young lord of some sort. If my other half had any sort of chauvinistic ideals, I’d rather be single than serve him.” “We have a chef at home. There won’t be any need for you to cook.” Jasmine was speechless for a moment. “Mr. Bucham, I never said I was going to marry you, so what do you having a chef at home have anything to do with me?” Josh opened his mouth but remained silent, unable to reply. After a moment, he said, “Jasmine, wait here for me. I’m going out for a bit.” Jasmine hummed in acknowledgment.

She served pasta, bacons and avocado sandwich in both of our plates and then in hers too. "I don't eat this much Mrs. Williams." I said to her watching this much food in my plate.

“We ended up with ration bars and a long, very loud debrief about protocol.” I stared at her. “That… can’t be the same Misha.” “Pretty sure there's only one.” Jesse raised an eyebrow. “Why?” “Because he cooks.” I leaned in a little, as if confessing something rare. “Like, really well. Like, gourmet-level well.” Jesse looked genuinely taken aback. “You're kidding.” “I wish. He made me a full course fine diner from scratch one night after a boring three-hour meeting. Didn’t even blink doing it. I didn’t even know we had risotto ingredients in the house.”

But Josh waved her over, inviting her to come closer. “Come sit. I made scrambled eggs,” he said, a hint of uncertainty in his tone. “I’m not sure if they’ll be any good, but I tried adding a little cream.” Ashley returned a small smile and moved toward the tall stool by the kitchen island. She settled herself, folding her hands on the table as she watched Josh move with practiced ease around the kitchen, as if this space had been his for years. Josh carefully scooped the scrambled eggs from the pan onto a plate, arranging two pieces of sausage beside them. He handed the plate toward Ashley.

Natasha explained while sneaking a glance at Joshua. "Okay, do you need to order some new dishes now? The kitchen can make them for you free of charge." Natasha glanced at Joshua. She no longer dared to order randomly. Who knew if a dish would suddenly hit Joshua's sore spot? He should just order it himself. Seeing Natasha's gaze, Joshua lifted his chin and reluctantly spoke, "Order what you like to eat." He had been put off by Natasha's earlier words. His mind was now filled with questions about who the person was who liked to eat garlic-stuffed mushrooms. Was it Jacob after all?
