Lindsay POV The dinner was a marvel, an experience that felt like a warm hug in the form of food and company. Emma Weiss insisted that I try every dish she had prepared with such care, and I couldn’t deny how much it made me feel welcomed. "My lasagna recipe is famous," she said with a proud smile, serving a generous portion onto my plate. The rich aroma of tomato sauce, basil, and melted cheese filled the air, and I couldn’t help but let out a sigh of anticipation.

"I’ll go cook for you." Marilyn almost thought she had misheard him. She whipped her head back toward him. "You know how to cook?" In her mind, Joshua was the typical young scion who lived a life of luxury, with everything handed to him. There had never been a need for him to learn such things; he could simply leave it to the servants and wait to be served. "Of course. I’ve picked up a few skills over the last three years. After all, you can't always rely on the help." Joshua gave Marilyn a playful wink and headed toward the kitchen. "Wait here just a moment."

Keiran leaned on the table as he asked. "We're making chicken curry, some roasted veggies, honey chili potatoes, and veg fried rice, " Josh said and opened the dish of fried rice. "Doesn't it smell amazing? " "It does, " Evelyn smiled. "That's because Rain made it, " The beta said, causing Rain to blush. "T-That's not true. Josh helped me a lot, " The omega corrected immediately. * * Keiran sat there and watched as the omegas and Josh cooked in the kitchen. Calvin was behind him, quietly leaning on the door frame.

He pulled away and she pouted at him for ending the kiss. “Let me cook your dinner first. We can do some more of that after.” She sighed but smiled anyway. “So, what’s on your menu tonight chef Josh?” He raised his eyebrow at her teasing. “Well, tonight madam, I will be preparing fresh gnocchi in a butter sage sauce.” Miranda was impressed. “…For desert…shop bought ice cream.” He brandished the tub in his right hand and they both laughed. She went to the fridge and pulled out the beer she’d bought him. “I thought you might like this tonight rather than wine.” She took the cap off and handed the cold bottle to Josh.

She was stunned and wanted to say something but the aromatic fragrance captured her attention. She looked over and discovered… There were a few delicious dishes on the table in front of her such as buffalo wings, caesar salad, steamed broccoli, and a very nicely presented cream of tomato. Luna was stunned. She looked at Joshua with surprise. "Did you buy these?" He was unhappy with that question, so he pointed at the messy kitchen and said, "I cooked them." She paused and looked into the kitchen unconsciously. Only then did she believe what Joshua said. The current situation in the kitchen suggested he had gone through plenty of work to prepare those dishes.

Chef Joshua said with much enthusiasm, “Good morning! For breakfast I made fiddlehead and bacon omelet, eggs benedict, bananas foster Belgian waffles, ratatouille grilled cheese sandwiches, the famous French toast, and for dessert we have yogurt parfait. Enjoy!” Because they all smelled so good, they were sure that the dishes were all delicious as well. Chef Joshua astounded Annika, and it appears that he prepared too much again, as if there was always a party going on. His food presentation is also excellent; he is a very skilled chef of all types of dishes. Even if you're full, you would still want to ask for seconds.

The silence at the table was heavy, broken only by the rhythmic clink of the Chief’s fork. "You should really try the eggs, Josh," Ada said, her voice dripping with a forced, sugary concern. She reached across the table, her hand hovering near his. "It is quite delicious. I made this breakfast. I thought you might want to eat a meal that tasted homely,instead of professionally or recipe followed foods. Besides, you need your strength. For... everything." Josh finally looked up, and the "dirty" look he gave her was pure, concentrated venom. It was the look of a man who wanted to reach across the table and squeeze the life out of the jasmine-vanilla scented air around her.

Jarek POV Cassian returned with the cookbook, his expression dark. He handed the book to Joe and said, “I’m sorry for being rude, but I’m going to have to ask you to leave now.” Jessa had just slid the brownies into the oven and turned, her brows furrowed. “It’s alright—” she started. “I’m afraid I have to insist,” Cassian said.

Joshua finally spoke, his finger tapping decisively on a dish listed in the menu. “Of course, sir,” the waitress responded with a nod before turning her attention to me, presenting the menu with a polite gesture. I studied the menu intently, my eyes flicking between the tantalizing descriptions of dishes and Joshua’s impassive demeanor. The way he acted as if he were doing me a favor by bringing me here grated on my nerves. Why couldn’t he have simply told me not to worry about food, that he had planned to take me to a restaurant? Instead, he chose to play games, to mock my predicament with his cocky arrogance.

"Maisie has already left for the day, otherwise I'd ask her what she did with it." ​"Honestly, I'm fine. I can prepare this myself. I'll just make a toasted meatball sandwich. You get off home, Joshua." ​"Are you sure?" Joshua asked, lingering by the counter. ​I practically had to usher him through the door. "I'm good. Have a nice evening." I waved him off and got back to preparing my meal. ​I actually enjoyed it, and I had some ice cream for dessert, ending up eating it all right there in the kitchen.
