" Jude was two years older than her. Back when she was 20, she had been too busy juggling school, work, and dragging her wayward brother out of internet cafés and nightclubs to consider anything else. Jude's love confession had been nothing more than a fleeting moment in her hectic life. Romance was a luxury she couldn't afford, and Jude hadn't fit into her plans. Callista froze for a moment, unsure how to respond. Just as she opened her mouth, Jude interrupted her. "How about a bet? Let's set the stakes first. If I win, you give me a chance to pursue you," he said. She raised an eyebrow, feeling genuinely curious. "What's the bet?"

“You seem jittery.” I stiffened. “I’m not.” “You are.” His lips curled slightly, but there was no warmth in his expression. I forced myself to breathe slowly. “It’s nothing.” Jude hummed thoughtfully, then stood up in a slow, deliberate motion. “You do remember, don’t you?” He took a step toward me, his movements fluid, controlled. “I practically own you.” I swallowed hard but said nothing. Jude’s voice dropped lower, carrying an unmistakable warning. “If you lie to me, I have other ways of finding out.” His eyes gleamed as he stepped even closer. “Other ways that you would hate.”

Jude grinned and he tossed the keys on top of the bed but before then he asked me to sit down and wait while he fresh up. I sat down , a little closer to the key and waited, deep down I prayed that something bad doesn't happen... Jude finished freshening up and he came back to the room wearing only but a towel around his waist, I hated being in the same room as him, but there was nothing I could do.. I had to pretend like I knew nothing and sat down like a good girl waiting to be told what to do next... "Nina! You want a drink". Jude poured a glass of champagne on one of the empty glass and passed the other one to me.

Isla could feel that her tears were starting to build up again in the corners of her eyes, but she looked up to hold them.
