We landed hard, both stumbling to our knees.
"Two down," Brady said, looking ahead at the countless platforms still stretching before us. "Only about a thousand to go."
We kept jumping. Platform to platform, crossing the void in stages. Some jumps were longer, requiring a good run up. Others were shorter, almost easy. The platforms themselves varied in size and shape. Some were circular like the first, others rectangular or irregular. A few seemed to be made of different materials entirely, smooth metal or rough crystal.
