I know the Alpha picked her because of love. I doubt it if she loves the Alpha at all. She is just a monger. I wanted to let go when grandpa told me about the curse, I wanted to quit when he explained how they are fated to be one, because I know I have no chance against them.

He kept walking. "FIRE!" The turrets spun up. The soldiers raised their rifles. Jack raised his right hand. The Cursed Hand. He didn't use a shield. He didn't use a blast. He snapped his fingers. CLICK. The sound was small, but the effect was massive. The Curse flared. A pulse of black anti-magic rippled out. It hit the turrets. Their targeting sensors went blind. They spun wildly, firing into the ceiling, shattering the chandeliers. Glass rained down like diamonds.
