Alpha Orion
The room was dim and cold.
Orion lay upon a bed draped in black ceremonial fur; his wounds had been cleaned, his expression was eerily calm, and his skin was pale and lifeless. The Alpha of the North looked carved from stillness itself, his power reduced to silence.
Vega stopped short.
For a long moment, he said nothing as he stared at the man he'd once revered. Then his jaw clenched, hard enough that the muscle jumped beneath his skin.
“He died fighting for his people,” Caspian's voice filled the silence. “He wanted to make things right by freeing the humans.”
