Samantha’s scream tore through the clearing. The pain intensified—searing white-hot through her chest, her limbs, her skull. She collapsed fully to the ground, her fingers digging into the soil. Her body arched, and a snarl—inhuman and raw—escaped her lips. Her eyes rolled back. The world around her flickered.
