As her fingers brushed against them, a cold feeling ran up her arm. The writing inside was the same as the journals. Runes. Symbols she couldn’t read. But this time… it wasn’t just words. There were illustrations. And the moment her eyes landed on them— Her blood turned cold. The drawings were horrifying. Creatures with twisted horns, long claws, and wings that looked torn and unnatural. Their faces were distorted, some almost human… but not quite. Their eyes were drawn with such detail that it felt like they were staring right back at her.

Max set the triceratops beside her pillow. Colt was the last to enter. He walked to Emory's bedside and stood there for a long moment, his drawings clutched against his chest. "Hi, Emory," he whispered. "It's me. Colt. I brought more pictures. This one is a Brachiosaurus. It's the tallest dinosaur ever. And this one is a Stegosaurus. It has plates on its back to protect it from predators." He set the drawings on the table. "Everyone at school misses you. Ms. Patterson said we could come visit. Ruby made a card. Max brought a triceratops. It's very big. Almost as big as a real one."

I order and watch the boys run back towards the building as fast as they can. I watch with concern as the young boy they were picking on sniffs and works to pick up pieces of his sketchbook. I bend down and help him pick up the remaining pieces before they’re carried off by the wind. I look at one of the pieces of paper and can’t contain the awe on my face as I take in the amazing sketch before me. It’s this incredible real-life style drawing of a sirna with a vibrant red tail surrounded by all the elements. It takes me a second to recognise the likeness, but this is a sketch of the God Ezillus as a sirna! This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. “You drew this?” I ask in astonishment
