Cara spoke, shoving her phone in front of my face. Wow, that sounded weirdly professional. I kept swiping back and forth between the two guys. One of the guy looked tall, well built with dirty blonde hair and he was wearing a black leather jacket. He screamed hot and danger in all caps. The other guy had this regular boy next door vibe with brown hair and he was pretty good looking. He reminded me of Tyler for a second and my mind was already starting to compare them both. Fucking hell! When does he get out of my head?

Nothing is impenetrable, but it is all I have left to keep sane. James’ night hustle is as a rap recording artist. Nothing mainstream yet. I ask him. There’s a guy on stage with his guitar on his knee, singing. He has a good voice, but not nearly as good as Steve’s. We drink our coffees and listen to the music. After a few songs the guy leaves the stage and a girl with dreadlocks comes on, carrying a guitar and a harmonica.

"A cup of tea?" Another night with just the two of them?

"Hey Track, I'm Jason, Mancini told me to get with you." His smile was warm and inviting, and you wouldn't know by just looking at him that he was anything more than a college geek into computers. Except most people's ideas of a geek does not look anything as handsome as the kid did, or as built. Most computer nerds didn't go for the gym life, but it was obvious that he did.

Someone online had posted a video of my blood-stained pants, which only supported Dr. Stevens's story even more. It didn’t matter how much I tried to explain that my hemorrhoids had simply ruptured, as no one would believe me like this.
