Just You Wait Book Novels & Stories

Hey guys! Thank you so much for reading both of my books. It really means the world to me. If you had enjoyed both of my previous books, I would strongly recommend you to read my next book 'Addicted to You' which revolves around Austin and Emma. Synopsis: "What are you waiting for?" I frowned as he kept staring at me like he was trying to memorize every inch of my face.

Even Brian didn’t stop nagging me until I told him I could no longer handle it. “You sound so bitter right now,” Judith said, typing in her passcode as we stopped at her door. We entered her room, and I headed straight for her bed. I expected her to protest that the bed would only make me want to sleep instead of read but she didn’t. “I’m not sounding bitter, I just don’t like the way everyone is trivializing my decision,” I said, picking the biggest book from the stack of books I left on the ground. I read from a self-help book I had once read, ‘Eat-That-Frog’, that eating your biggest frog first would make eating the smaller ones easier.

But even the regular ward didn't look casual. I walked to an empty table for two and settled on one of the couches. A young guy dressed in a white shirt and black pants walked to me with a book in his hand. That had to be one of the waiters and the book was the menu for meals. "Good day, ma'am," he said to me in a very sweet tone. "Please, what can we offer you?" My face dissolved in a warm smile. "Not yet, please. I'm here with someone. I will wait for him to come in first. He's making a phone call out there."

“Why won’t I like you? You’re beautiful. You’re kind. You’re a good doctor and an excellent mother. No man could ever ignore a woman like you, if one did, he’s stupid.” The corner of my lips rose into a smile as I stared at his face. I have another question and I won’t let this chance go. “What if you failed to make me like you?” He paused and slowly lifted his face to look at me. His smile slowly faded and his expression became serious. “Then, I’ll try again and wait and wait…and wait until you like me enough. I’ll wait because waiting for you doesn’t bother me. I’ll wait because you deserve to be waited. So, take your time. You are worth my time and effort.”

“They’re doing everything they can.” Lily swayed. Aaron’s arm came around her waist instantly, firm and unyielding, holding her upright as the world tilted dangerously. “Can we see her?” Lily asked desperately. “I’m afraid not right now,” the nurse said. “You’ll need to wait here. A doctor will update you as soon as the surgery is complete.” Wait. The word felt cruel. They were directed to the waiting area, a wide room lined with identical plastic chairs that offered no comfort and no privacy. Lily sat stiffly, hands clenched in her lap, eyes locked on the double doors at the far end of the corridor.

Her enthusiasm jolts my hope up, and a smile breaks out onto my face. "You're right....I've got to be positive." The more I think about it, it surely convinces me that indeed, there's a chance and something good might happen after all. Waiting patiently by the shelf, for my order, I think about all the books I've collected over the years and maybe, giving away most of the ones I had stocked in my small basement, back at home. I'd give it up for donation to all people who need it. 'Hello and welcome to the Starlight news, where all the latest gossip and celebrity updates are first heard here..

That night, after calmly arranging his affairs, I took sleeping pills and lay down next to him. “I’ll be with you soon.” When I opened my eyes again, there was a blinding white light. “Are you okay?” I shot upright and realized I was leaning over my desk. The girl next to me was wiping tears from her cheeks, choking on her sobs. “Emma just went off with Callum. Ugh, finally, love triumphs over everything.” My eyes widened as I looked down at the novel in front of me. It was open to the chapter titled “Please Wait for Me.” The illustration showed him holding my hand, standing by the sea, supporting each other through life.

Before Lily's surgery, the nurse slid the consent form across to me. I called my husband, Ethan Reid, eleven times. When the twelfth call finally connected, the first voice I heard was his first love, Claire Bennett, on the verge of tears: "Ethan, the zipper on my wedding dress is stuck. Don't leave yet." I looked at my daughter, white with pain in the hospital bed, and said, "Lily's waiting for you." Ethan was silent for two seconds before saying, "Just sign it. I'll get there later." Later, Lily studied the lone guardian's signature on the form and asked, "Mom, can I leave Dad off the school forms from now on?" I said she could. From that day on, she stopped leaving room for Ethan anywhere

ANISA. I blinked once, twice. Then squeezed my eyes tightly shut and waited. But as the stillness continued to stretch with each passing second, I knew nothing had happened. At least not yet. Maybe I need to wait a little longer first. So, I kept my eyes shut. Waiting. Waiting for a light, or perhaps, a certain flash that would indicate I had left the book and was back in my real world. I waited for any slight sign that would show the rejection had worked, and I had safely returned home.
