The skimpy dresses say a whole lot about them. One was in a red body hug gown and black heels while the other was in a big shirt that had all three buttons opened revealing her cleavages and long leather boots like that of Kristen. The third down was moderately dressed. She had her shirt buttoned up to her neck with black jean trousers that hugged perfectly to her skin. She had caught Justin's attention. She is his kind of girl. "Sure you can join us" Justin quickly said and made spaces for them. He made sure that the moderate-looking girl sat beside him why the one that is on that shirt sat beside Larry and the one in the gown sat beside Bryan leaving Frederick the odd one among them.

Yet, there was something off about him, like he was fuming about something. "Yeah I'm fine. Where's that serpent that did this to me?" I glared playfully at Justin who was drinking right from the orange juice carton, giving me another cuss sign. He was now wearing his usual clothes and his hair dripped slightly. His muscles flexed as he dropped down the carton, looking at me playfully.

I shit him the bird and he guffawed and cooed at his son. I went upstairs and quickly found some clothes only to realize that they felt uncomfortably tight around the middle. I ended up finding a pair of high-waisted jeans and a long sleeve T-shirt. I grabbed a sweater and draped it over my arm in front of my stomach, trying to look normal. James was chatting with Justin. I had no idea what they were saying. Uncle Joe was looking through the fridge and pantry, probably checking to make sure I was taking care of myself.

It led me to the bathroom, and as I pushed the slightly ajar door, my eyes widened in shock. There stood Justin, dressed in a black t-shirt and pants, with a baseball hat pulled low over his head. The mop stick had slipped from my hand as I took in the scene before me. His clothes were stained with blood, and his face had held a mixture of fear and surprise as our eyes met. "You saw me covered in blood, Ayva," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

He looked as if he was finally awake and ready to take the day by storm. His light brown hair was sitting messily, with fresh gel, and his skin almost the perfect tone. He had a great look and it was attractive, I must admit. Especially when the sun beamed on him like it is at this particular moment, almost like a teenaged god. I turned my attention back to my phone as he got into the car.

Justin’s grip didn’t loosen. “You shouldn’t be wearing that,” he said quietly, his voice low but sharp. “You don’t belong here like this.”

Marissa Justine was about to drop me off when the sound of footsteps on the stairs made both of us look up. Justin emerged, shirtless, in nothing but a pair of khaki shorts that hung low on his hips, and I swear—my soul flatlined. His lean muscles flexed with each step like he was handcrafted in a lab and then cursed with that careless kind of beauty that didn’t even try. He glanced up and caught me staring, and I had to blink and look away before I publicly embarrassed myself.

Even just standing in the doorway and looking around made me smile and temporarily forget all of the horrible things that had been happening recently. Almost immediately, Justin appeared in front of me with a grin on his face. He was dressed nicely in a pair of trousers and a button-down shirt; I had never seen him wearing anything except sweatpants and hockey shirts before, so it came as a surprise. Seeing him like that made me stifle a laugh, as he looked a little nerdy in his outfit. “Come on,” he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me toward the dance floor. “Let’s dance.”

We scrambled in, breathless, the storm raging outside like it was pissed we'd intruded. The cave was shallow but dry, the air cool and musty. We shook off the water, but the chill seeped in fast. Justin stripped off his wet shirt without hesitation, revealing a chiseled chest dusted with blonde hair, abs that rippled as he wrung out the fabric. I couldn't look away, my eyes tracing the V dipping into his jeans. 'Your turn,' he said, smirking, but his gaze was hungry, flicking over my soaked clothes.

Justin asked, his eyes turning hard and dark. "She is outside, " I said simply. My voice was flat empty of any emotion. "I threw her to the horde. There are no ends here. Not anymore." Justin stayed quiet for a moment. He did not look shocked. He did not tell me I was a monster. He just nodded slowly, his grip tightening on my shoulder in a show of support. He understood the rules of the world just as well as I did. In the apocalypse mercy was another way to commit suicide.
