I sank into the chair near the fire. She poured tea into a chipped cup and handed it to me. The warmth seeped into my hands, but the tightness in my chest didn’t ease completely. My phone buzzed again on the table. Flint’s name. I didn’t answer. Karen’s sharp eyes flicked toward it. “He won’t stop calling, will he?”

Karen said, her smile venomous. Isabelle clenched her fists, refusing to back down. “What do you want, Karen?” Karen chuckled, leaning closer. “Just to let you know that you and Andrew can’t win. I always get what I want.” “We’ll see about that,” Isabelle shot back, her voice steady despite the fear bubbling inside her. Karen’s smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. “Enjoy your little victory while it lasts. It won’t be long before everything you love is gone.”

She said she wrote the book to help other women avoid manipulative men like me. I watched one interview against my better judgment. The host asked Karen what she wanted readers to take away from her story. She said "I want women to know that powerful men will use you and discard you. Kendra groaned as she uncurled her body from the fetal position that she’d lain in on the damp ground for the better part of the night. She’d made sure that her horse was close by so that she could watch over its safety in the event of a zombie or cyborg invasion. "Yes it is," Andrew answered and resumed kissing her again. ** *2 month later* "Gosh! Do you have to really do this? I mean you don't need college," Andrew groaned as he watched Karen pack few of her clothes. "Andrew, I'm not going away or dying. I'm just going to college and I'll be visiting every weekend. I promise," Karen replied still packing her things.

Her eyes widened and she said haughtily: "How can you say such a thing about Ruby? She just made a little mistake, and you hang on to it. If you hadn't come, she would have been in a relationship with my brother now. It's because of you, bitch. You should leave the Red Snow Pack." André stepped forward, grabbed Karen's arm and tried to take her out of the room. "It's not your business, Karen. Even if Zoe wasn't in the picture, I wouldn't be with Ruby. Don't talk nonsense."
