Garick stopped at the edge of the rocky plateau, exactly three hundred paces from the boundary of the ward—just out of range of the standard elven glass-tipped ballistas mounted on the high walls. He lifted his massive, clawed hand, and the three hundred wolves behind him halted in perfect unison, the sudden silence of the army more terrifying than their approach.
"Sound the horns," Garick commanded.
From the second row of the vanguard, six massive Lycan warriors stepped forward, lifting the long, curved war horns of the highland pack to their lips. They took a deep, collective breath and blew.
