“…A man-man?” I rolled my eyes. “Yes, Karl. A male. XY chromosomes, deep voice, annoying laugh, Smug face.” Her pen clattered on the desk. “Oh my God,” she breathed, leaving her seat, hands covering her mouth dramatically as she settled on my desk. “Is he ugly?” I lifted my eyes from my sketching just enough to glare at her. “That’s your first concern?” She leaned closer, whispering urgently. “Because if he’s ugly, we riot. But if he’s hot..”

Helios asked her “How did you do that?" Karla scratched her head and rolled on the lawn. She tries to hold the end of the toga so she won’t get any rashes. Sorcerers flew down the air and watched Karla smack her head with a pink rock. “What is she Heli?” Asked a sorcerer. “I dunno, she might be a demigod or something else.” The coven of sorcerers started to murmur about their thoughts about her. Helios looked at her.

He stared at Helga with an intensity that made Helga feel cornered. “You dared to fight him,” Zean said softly. “I had no choice,” Helga answered defensively. “You were the one who sent that predator here.” Zean did not reply. His eyes went down toward Helga’s chest, realizing there was something stuck behind her green dress. Something square-shaped. “What is that?” Zean asked, his voice turning very cold. Helga froze. Her hand reflexively touched her chest area, trying to cover the photo she was hiding. “It's nothing. Just … a small book.”

I asked, just to be sure he doesn't have super hearing. “No, but I can read lips and people's actions too. He looks too calm, and that is not good,” Karl replied, walking towards the car, and I followed behind him. "You're also too calm," I retorted. "Why are you so inclined on defending him?" Karl questioned, I could tell he is losing his cool a little. Wait... Is he jealous? Definitely not! “How do you know he is lying? he looks genuine to me, though. I may not know Cole that well, but he doesn't give off that kind of vibe,” I said as we got to Karl's car.

Harrison’s POV I sat in the car for a long time. The folder from the investigator lay on the passenger seat, the cream-coloured cover slightly bent from where I’d gripped it too hard, and I stared at it without seeing it because the only thing in my head was one sentence, looping over and over. She’s not married to Karl. I put my head in my hands and pressed my palms against my closed eyes until I saw spots, and I breathed, and I let it hit me properly.

I break off, flushing with heat. His eyes darken. "Sex scene?" My throat tightens, making it impossible to swallow. "I was going to say it." He leans back, resting his hands behind his head. "I suppose your right, but don't you ever read it and want them to just get to it already, that it's obvious they want each other." "Didn't know you read romance." My accusatory tone makes him smile. The thought of Hale laying in his bed with this particular book open, reading through the graphic scene makes my toes curl.

After a few minutes of tense silence, Karl finally emerged from the dressing room wearing only a pair of loose black house pants that hung low on his lean hips, leaving his muscular torso bared to my roving eyes. I couldn't stop my gaze from being drawn to the rippling ridges

But just as the omega thought he was home free, the healer decided to give some advice on possible activities and positions that could be used for mutual pleasure outside of mating. It was rife amongst them all, but none of them had ever stooped so low. Karl emerged, his lips taut and motioned to Alexandre and Noelle. The smell of cigar smoke hit Noelle as soon as he entered, along with the grim haze of countless bouts of that indulgence. Karl lit up immediately, preferring the smoke to alcohol. Around him, he revelled in images of his past students and those legends whom they strived to emulate. The only items that were constantly rid of dust.
