“I am sorry, Kathy, but I don’t want to hurt anyone.” Katherine stares at her brother in hurt, her eyes turning glassy with tears, in other words, Kai and Katherine are siblings, but not related, ten year old Katherine was living in a quiet weyr with her mother when a war happened, her mother died, so Freya’s parents took her in, they raised her like their own, they didn’t have much. Katherine helped out in Freya’s parents' stall. Along the way, Katherine ran away from the weyr when she was a teenager, she was attacked by rogues, she could have died that day, but Kai saved her and took her to his home where she lived with his parents.
