Katie turned away and just giggled in the direction of Christopher. "It - it doesn't seem like she wants the cake from you, Olivia," Joan suggested, leaning to Olivia. "It's okay. I can feed her." Christopher aided in feeding Katie and as he did, he chuckled at the little girl's reaction. Olivia and Joan ended up looking at each other. They utterly felt like they did not belong. Joan whispered to Olivia, "How old is your baby again?" "She is 19 months now, but she is very communicative," Olivia whispered back.

Katie scolded feigning a high squeaky voice, so that now she sounded more like a brightly animated cartoon. Nick watched on, amused by the little show his little toy was putting on. “I think I'm going to call you…snow.” She lilted. At that Nick did a mental facepalm, rolling his eyes heavenward as he let out a long heavy sigh. Sometimes, he wondered if this woman sitting beside him was actually twenty two, or rather sixteen years old. Now she raised her head to look at him. “What do you think of the name I gave our little friend, Nick?” she said. “How's snow?” Katie asked, obviously pleased with herself.

She is so beautiful that you could easily mistake her for some glamorous model or fabulous actress. I smile at the thought, because that could not be further from her personality. Katie is a down home country girl, through and through. She is only happy when she is ankle deep in mud with one of her many animals. She does not dream of fame and fortune; her only dream is to become a vet, marry her long-time boyfriend Eric and live on a farm, raising a half dozen little rugrats.

Even the bar stools looked custom-made. As we stepped inside, I spotted Katie - the same warm and welcoming Katie who had made my first day here so much easier. It turned out that after Katie returned to the country, she had been eager to break into the domestic market and was willing to lower her status as long as the role was impressive, even if it was a supporting role.

I nodded, “I was just telling Asher and Jasper that we have everyone sign in here at the front and everyone needs a visitor's pass. I will assist Katie in getting them if you’ll give me a moment.” I squeezed Jaspers hand one more time for support as Asher walked up to the window where Katie stood in all her bad ass glory. I say bad ass when she is maybe five foot two, spiky short hair dyed this week in purple, brown eyes, and a tattoo sleeve on her right arm, and a quote from Harry Potter in a small script from her neck to her shoulder. Her nose piercing flashed at me. She smiled and asked for ID while I watched everyone. Brenton’s eyes were locked on Katie. He didn’t speak, he just watched

It’s not a big issue, though, as her clothes are a bit too big for me. KC ensures I never run out of painkillers. Despite being only 17 years old, he has a steady hand that rivals that of any doctor I’ve ever met. Both Kattie and KC exhibit a remarkable level of responsibility and maturity far beyond their years. They have clearly been forced to grow up too soon, which initially makes me feel sorry for them. But then I realize that at least they have the freedom to shape their own lives.

They are both super nice and kind to me. Katie I learned has just turned 18 and she wants to become a nurse. She is supposed to go to a training at another pack, but hasn’t received her approval letter yet. With her personality, I know she will make a great nurse.
