I don't understand. "Do you understand what Alpha Kennedy means?" Kiana steps up to me. She's dressed in plait and cargo pants, similar to last time. Her hair is pulled back in an intricate braid, revealing a tattoo that looks something like a triquetra. "The packs all have a responsibility to their Wolves. And Solari has every intention of holding them to those responsibilities."

Its dark eyes assessed her with a predatory glaze. After a few moments Adelaide relaxed her stance and moved to stand in front of the wolf. It growled in aggression as she neared, and she let out her own grumble, from deep in her chest, to warn it off of making any movements. “Submit,” She spat. Their eyes met as the wolf worked hard to resist her words. She recognised the wolf, it had been at the Moon Valley. The scent of purity clung to its skin, the scent of the Moon, and she wondered why it was here.

He let out a playful, squeaky howl that sounded more like a startled Chihuahua than an Alpha werewolf. Richards instantly stopped crying, staring at his father’s ridiculous performance with wide, skeptical eyes. He then pointed back at the cake. “WOLFIE!” Kai picked up the plastic figure from the floor. “Here you go, little man! Aunt Gia just wanted to make sure it was clean!” He handed the small wolf to Richards, who immediately shoved it into his mouth. “No, no, don’t eat the cake topper!” Cassie laughed, quickly pulling the toy out of the boy’s mouth, earning another dramatic sigh from Richards.

I nodded my head in understanding and then replied, “Let’s go then. We shouldn’t waste time anymore.” Galaxy immediately shifted into her wolf form and then I got up on the back of her huge wolf. I gently patted her head and her neck and immediately she rubbed her head against my hand. Then howling loudly, she started running. Her loud and sharp howling broke the silence of the forest and immediately we heard another howling from far away from us. Galaxy whined slightly then she increased the speed of her running. I was sitting tightly, wrapping her neck with my hands. I clearly understood it was none other than Liam.

And yes, my wolf, which I have had since I was born; finally fucking decided to tell me his name. When I asked Kai, he looked at me oddly and said his beasts made themselves known to him from day one; even Cat knew her wolf’s name. Cat’s wolf is Sable, whereas Kai’s wolf is Gunnar and the Lycan is Loki. What the fuck? I could never imagine having two beasts inside of me, not with the insufferable way my beast acts. /“Careful,”/ he warns. /“Or what?”/ I roll my eyes at his so-called warning.

Another man stood with him… Carter, one of his oldest friends and former patrol Beta from Ashenclaw. I would have walked away normally. But then I heard her name. Aluna. I froze immediately. Wilson leaned heavily against the desk, rubbing a frustrated hand over his face while Carter watched him carefully. “You need to stop thinking about her,” Carter said quietly. Wilson laughed once. A bitter sound. “You think I don’t know that?” My stomach tightened instantly. Carter frowned. “She’s married now. She’s the Queen of Wolves.” “I know what she is,” Wilson snapped. Silence followed briefly.

He paused, his eyes scanning my face for any sign of understanding. “I couldn't help but laugh, I guess either I'm hearing things or I'm not the only crazy one in the room.” Zayn stepped closer, his movements deliberate and careful, as if I might bolt at any moment. “You’re a wolf,” he said, his voice steady. “You always have been. You just didn’t know it yet.” I burst out in laughter once again, sharp and bitter, verging on hysteria. “You’re insane. This is insane.”
