I felt happy but deep inside I was always sad. I wasn't able to sleep that night. I kept turning around. The dream I used to have come back. This time I saw his face. His blue eyes sparkled. It had always been him. Mike. He even conquered me in my dreams. He never left me alone. Then, suddenly I was lost in darkness. Pitch black darkness everywhere I looked. But suddenly a beautiful woman came near me. She was dressed in white. Her hair was white as well. She hugged me. She comforted me. "Don't be afraid my child. I am the moon goddess. You are never alone. He is your world." she spoke. A knock on the door woke me up. It was my mom who came to wake me up.

“Get straight to the point, Soraya. Don’t test my patience.” Her head lifted slightly, but her eyes never met mine. They stayed lowered, as if afraid the truth itself would strike her dead. She drew in a ragged breath. “Long ago, when the Moon Goddess still walked among us, she had a circle of chosen servants called the Guardians. They were each gifted powers—beauty, healing, strength, eternal youth. Gifts meant to serve her and maintain balance between wolves and humans. But one of them… one named Milandra… grew jealous.”

And that's when I remember something, a narrative or a legend I've heard for the longest time. The moon goddess has four warriors....Hera, Aurora, Zoe and Iris who serve her faithfully. Wherever she goes, they are there with her. They are strong, beautiful and smart. No one can ever get close to the moon goddess because of these warriors. However, time must come when they have to leave their mistress behind and descend in our world for they will protect our kind from all danger. No one knows who they are or when they will come, but we all must alert until they show up.

I plead. She smiles at me, a bittersweet look crossing her face. Slowly, she shakes her head. “I’d love to… truly. But you see, my sisters and I… we’re daughters of the Moon Goddess. We were the original guardians of Moon River. It used to be a sacred place, a sanctuary where people came to seek the goddess’s guidance. That witch corrupted it. She hijacked everything and turned it into a prison. Her prison.”

Their eyes glowed crimson, and their weapons radiated dark energy. Torren stepped forward, swinging his massive axe. The first guardian was cut in two, but more kept coming. Aeron spun his spear in a deadly circle, fending off another guardian. “There’s too many of them!” Cassian’s voice rang out. “Hold the line! Protect the Moonbearer!” Luna raised her hands. Silver light flared across the hall, illuminating the guardians. They hissed and recoiled, but did not retreat. “You must focus,” Mira urged. “Let the moons guide you.”

🌙 THE REALM OF THE MOON ANGELS, ISHKA. The moon angels had always lived there lives as flower petals. It's unimaginable right? But then it gets very interesting. My voice lowers, becoming far more dangerous. “If you will not confess,” I say, “then hear this: the Moon has already seen you.” A distant rumble echoes across the valley—thunder, though the sky remains clear. Several wolves flinch. “You may hide from me,” I continue. “You may hide from this pack. But you cannot hide from her.” The Moonlight brightens suddenly, washing the clearing in silver. “The Moon keeps accounts,” I finish. “And she always collects.”

The Blood Moon loomed overhead, casting an eerie glow over the land. Its light seemed to pulse with the weight of ancient power, the sky painted in crimson and gold as the stars disappeared beneath its shadow. Raynor stood at the edge of the Frostfang Peaks, looking out over the vast expanse of the land.
