Whispers of a Second Chance
I waited, my senses on high alert, as she handed me the glass.
"Thank you," I said, my voice a strained whisper. I took a sip, the tequila burning a fiery trail down my throat.
A strange sensation washed over me, a feeling of heaviness in my head, a disorientation that had nothing to do with the alcohol.
