Until I woke up to a splitting headache. “Agh...” I groaned, clutching my head with both hands. It felt like a heavy sword had been driven straight into the middle of my skull, with two hands trying to rip my head apart. The sharp pain was relentless. I shook my head, trying to clear the haziness I was feeling in it, feeling like I might have just tired myself out. But nothing was working. A dull pressure wrapped around my head, growing heavier by the second. When I tried to push myself up, my arms protested immediately, trembling as if they’d already been used up. They felt wrong. Heavy and disconnected from the rest of my body. “What is happening to me?” I whispered. The room swayed when I stood, not violently, just enough to make my stomach drop. My vision blurred at the edges, dark spots blooming and fading. Something is wrong. Something is terribly wrong.

Ayesha squinted from discomfort as the light in the room suddenly made her head spin. Strangely, she had felt a little better after a good night's rest and a morning at class, but when she started working, the soreness and the headaches started up again. Her throat felt raw, and her tongue heavy. Soon it felt like a pulse was drumming behind her eyes, and working became impossible.

A high-pitched ringing buzzed in my ears, distant at first, then swelling, consuming everything. My head felt heavy like it had been stuffed with cotton, but the weight wasn’t enough to dull the sharp, pulsing ache at my temples. I tried to move, but a dull throb shot up my arm, pinning me down before I could register what was wrong.

I let out a deep breath before responding to her. “It all started many days ago. I just felt my head spinning. The more movements I do, my body gets tired easily. Every morning, I could feel a stomach pain as if I am about to vomit. I can handle these things these past few days, but recently, it's getting worse. The spinning of my head was uncontrollable which made me lose consciousness.”
