“What’s your name?” The woman asked smiling, Kiara knew the woman. Well, everyone knew the woman, Iris Brooks, the woman was married to the richest man in England, Adrian Brooks. The woman’s blue eyes met Kiara’s green ones. “Kiara, Kiara Adams” Kiara said looking down at her feet. The woman’s friends were all looking at Kiara who cowered. She feared losing her job and being called by to the table by the woman, she was frightened “Mrs. Iris, if I did anything wrong, I apologize, but please…”

Mia rolled her eyes and snatch my coffee cup from me before spilling it all over my dress. "What the fuck is this?" Isabella yelled in anger. Now all eyes in the cafeteria is on me. I can't deal with this anymore. Firstly, the drama with Maria this morning and now another drama with Kiara. Kiara is the daughter of one of the most powerful politician in San Francisco. I smiled. “I am….” She rolled her eyes, interrupting me. “I already know who you are,” she said. “Dane Haynes, the royal prince of the Ironclaw pack.” There was a hint of sarcasm in her tone. I chuckled. “I guess I don’t need an introduction anymore,” I said.

Calm, expensive silence. As we stepped into our suite, I exhaled slowly. This…This was exactly what I needed. Sophia ran straight to the bed, jumping onto it. “Mummy! It’s so soft!” I smiled, walking toward the vanity mirror. And for a moment, I just stared at myself. “Kiara Mitchell,” I said quietly. “Who used to be just a housewife… who couldn’t afford anything… is now one of the top interior designers in L.A and beyond.”

Kiara Ryden was the first to speak. “You’re bleeding.” Not a question. A fact, crisp as the moonlight catching the edge of his jaw. I looked down. A shallow cut on my arm. Probably from the broken glass when he crashed through the archive window like some overgrown predator with a hero complex. “Good observation,” I said dryly, brushing a fleck of blood from my skin. “What gave it away—the red or the pain?” Hayden chuckled from somewhere behind me. “She’s got teeth.”
