“I’d like you to meet our new security team,” I said, gesturing toward the group standing silently at attention. “Everyone, this is my wife, Scarlett.”
I turned back to her. “Scarlett, this is Phillip my personal bodyguard.”
Phillip stood tall, arms crossed, face unreadable. The kind of man who never blinked under pressure. Cold, focused, lethal.
“It’s an honor to meet you, Mrs. Cross,” he said finally, with a curt nod and a surprisingly soft smile.
