One afternoon, as they navigated a narrow canyon, a sudden, deafening roar echoed through the rock walls. It was not the howl of a wolf, but the mechanical bark of a hunter’s weapon, followed by the whistling screech of a projectile. Elara reacted instantly, shoving Kael out of the path of the incoming bolt. The silver-tipped arrow buried itself deep into the rock face where he had stood moments before, a testament to the Shade Stalkers’ deadly accuracy.

At thirteen feet tall, his light-absorbing obsidian fur and glowing violet Alpha runes made him the most terrifying entity on the battlefield. A Stalker slashed its dark-matter blade at Killian's chest. The blade didn't bounce off; it was simply absorbed into Killian's fur, dissolving into nothing. Killian’s deep, distorted chuckle vibrated through the air. "You call yourselves shadows?" He reached out with a massive, violet-clawed hand and grabbed the Stalker by its featureless face. Killian didn't crush it. He unhinged his massive jaws, revealing teeth that burned with a mixture of solar fire and deep space entropy, and bit the creature directly in half.

I let out a choked cry as the stalker leaned down, plucked the phone from my useless grip, and tossed it into the pool with agonizing slowness. They didn't even watch it sink. They just grabbed me by the back of my dress and shoved me into the pool, before they did, the hood fell, allowing me to catch a glimpse of a scar on their neck and a bit of their side profile, everything was already blurry, making it unable for me to see who it was, since i was getting murdered, the least they could’ve done is a face reveal so i die knowing who my stalker was… not like it would change anything, but just to satisfy my curiosity. The air rushed past me, followed by the violent, icy impact of the water.

The last thing Marcus saw was his daughter wiping the blade on his shirt, her cold, empty expression never changing.

It felt like he was reading an adventure story except that, here, he was not a reader, but one of the characters-the suffering protagonist probably. His stalker was the villain here. "You fucking undermined me, but I'm sure you have come to your senses now." The stalker said again, "If you make any more funny moves, I am going to catch you, and torture you severely. One of the first things he said to me was, ‘They’ll kill him to get to you.’ ‘Him’ meaning me, ‘you’ meaning Steph. ‘The rogues want you.’” My voice went darker. “He’s stalking us.” Without heeding Kellen’s warning, I strode across the hall, my shoes clicking loudly on the marble, and got in the rogue’s unimpressed face. “You tailed us here, Arrio.
