He undoubtedly would win the competition, but he left everyone stun when he remained mute. “You know I just love nature and there's nothing more calming than a Japanese tea to soothe the mind before a war breaks out,” he smirked, and a lady dressed in her traditional attire stepped in with a jar. She sat on her legs as she poured the warm tea in our cups. I could smell the delicate flavors of matcha tea.

"We should celebrate Raine's arrival!" "But I still don't have much food!" "Don't worry! Mommy and Daddy gave me some money so that we can order food!" Shaira added. "Can I have some mushroom flavored pizza with hot sauce?" Lani asked. "Of course," Shaira replied. "How about you two?" "As usual," Zane spoke. "A hot drink made out of pure theobroma cacao or a hot camellia sinensis," Raine replied. "Speak English... Please," Shaira said.

I wrench her from my chest, my fingers biting into her shoulders as I bring her to eye level; “eight cups?! Diabetes is a real disease, ya know.” “Oh, don’t be a Humpty Dumpty. I plan on starting my diet next weekend.” “I’m not buying you any more lattes.” I put my foot on the ground. Zeya’s face crumples. “Then you’re not forgiven. You can go back to your new friends.” The little manipulator! “Let me buy you matcha instead.” I offer an olive branch. “It’s delicious and healthy.” Her face contorts in pure horror, “first of all, matcha tastes like grass and… heartbreak. I’ll pass.”

She could only make peace with it, which was why everyone thought she loved matcha cake as a child. She had never been allowed to make her stance since young, and all of that had been caused by Tiffany! “You’re making your amends with this matcha cake?” She stared at her coldly. “This is from Yukkuri. They’re well-known for their matcha cake. Please, have a taste..." said Tiffany pretentiously. Charmine cackled loudly as she mocked her sarcastically, “Oh c’mon, Tiffany. You’re apologizing with just matcha cake? Does that mean you’re only worth the price of a matcha cake?”

I took another sip and another. “You actually enjoy that grass tasting shit?” Jasper voiced out after observing the expression on my face as I continued sipping. "Indeed, it's actually good. Well, it does taste like grass but not like bad grass or something." “See I told you, Jasper. Matcha is the real shit.” Kenneth popped up supporting me. “I’m going to buy one for my sister.” I spat and continued sipping.

I said in a chirpy tone and gave him a teasing grin. He grumbled on his seat and grabbed the mug of matcha on the table. “Will you just drop it?” He says irritably before taking a sip from his new drink. As he did, his eyes widened before looking at it. “What’s this thing called?” I looked at him weirdly. “Um...Matcha. I just told you that. Haven’t you tried it before?” “No.” He admitted, his eyes still fixated on the green drink as he took another sip. “It’s really good. Way better than coffee.” He says as he chugs it all down. “Alright. Let’s get started with our research.”

“Try this one.” She was now entirely focused on the dessert and did not realize how overly-considerate and intimate his actions were. She opened her mouth. The matcha dessert was entirely different from the small strawberry cake. The taste was slightly more subtle, but it was still just as tasty. She ate every single dessert with single-minded devotion. Mark simply sat next to her, sipping on his cup of americano. His eyes brimming with smiles. “I’ll have someone send a box over to you every day if you like them that much.”

The forty-minute-long session ended minutes later, and I felt so drained I couldn’t even think straight. Thankfully, Kane arrived then with a cup of my favorite matcha latte. I received it gracefully, and my heart warmed when I took a sip of it. “I assumed it’d be cold by now.” I stared at him as he made himself comfortable on the couch Emmerson had just stood up from. Though seeing him positioned there felt wrong, for reasons I couldn’t comprehend.

Drake’s eyes lit up when he saw the book, the blazing orange was hard to look at but was mesmerizing all the same, “The path of the one and the end of the thirteen, I never thought I would get to see it,” “You can be the one to translate, I never was good with enochian,” Ellie said with a smile as she slid the book to the entrancing Dragon-shifter, “So, you're really going to give us a history lesson, right now?” questioned Valaria as her amethyst eyes darted between Drake and Ellie,

Twenty minutes pass and I am only on the second page. The phone rings and saves me the agony. "Hey baby girl," I hear Jade's chirpy voice as soon as I answer. "Hey you," I say, lying on the couch. "How is it?" she asks. "It's nice. I haven't had the chance for a tour but the cabin is amazing," I say, looking at the chandelier above me. It is rustic and matches the decor in the cabin. I find it mesmerizing to look at.
