I squatted, not minding the ends of my gown getting stained by dirt.
Taking the white clover from her, I asked, "Why do you give me this, young wolf?"
She showed a childish grin, her missing two front teeth on display. "Mother says we should be caring. Miss had been standing looking so sad."
I brought the flower to my lips, taking a deep breath. It was as fragile as the rose but as mellow as the dusk. It was light but it hit my heart nonetheless, the flower doesn't matter but the thought, a proverb flittered through my mind: Kindness wears down even the hardest shells… not to mention, I wasn’t hard at all. I softly swallowed, "Thank you. Where's your mother, little one?"
