Driven to the edge by hunger, thirst, and panic, Julian slapped Jessica hard across the face. There was a sharp crack, and Jessica went flying. She crashed heavily into the coffee table, the corner of her mouth splitting open.
Julian did not stop. He mounted on top of Jessica and struck her swollen face repeatedly, punching and kicking her. "Let you drink it? Giving it to you would be a waste! You're deadweight! If it hadn't been for you, I would've taken the money and left by myself long ago! Why aren't you dead yet?!"
