Chapter Two: The Proposal Simeon leaned back in his chair, tapping a pen idly on his desk, a small, amused smile playing on his lips as he replayed the events of earlier that day. It was hard to believe it had actually happened. He had been the recipient of a proposal—but not just any proposal. A proposal from a complete stranger. He couldn't help but have a chuckle to himself as he picked up the card Elizabeth had handed him. It had been ages since he'd had one of these days.

Adrian King, the untouchable Chairman of ACE Construction, turned to Henry, and his demeanor slowly changed. “You say you made the proposal?” Adrian repeated, his eyes narrowing. “Uh, yes, Mr. King...” Henry’s voice faltered. “Strange,” Adrian said, flipping through the papers. “Not only is it the same folder... IT’S THE SAME PROPOSAL!” Adrian King stood up and slammed the folder against the table’s surface. His voice was thunderous as he pointed out, “First of all. What kind of supervisor requires an intern to proofread their proposal?”

Julia A few days later… …I need you to know three things about me tonight, Julia. One, I’m paying a very high price for this night, so I want everything I’m entitled to with you. Including the damn kiss on the mouth. Two, never say no to me, because that word doesn’t exist in my dictionary. So when I want something, even if you tell me no, I go and take it. And three, never touch me without my permission. In bed, I’m the one who commands and orders, and you just obey me. Any questions?

“What is this proposal you have for me? If you’re now playing the part of a super-hero, then what could I possibly do?” Sighing, he leaned back in his chair and folded his arms. “I don’t want to be president. I want you to have that position. So, I will give you one week, starting today, to do those things we agreed on with the shareholders, to bring more revenue into the company. I promise not to pay one penny to the loans. Show me you are the woman I know you can be. Show me – and your grandfather in Heaven – that you are the rightful president.”

I said, briefly. Rox didn’t even look that surprised. He might even expect for me to say that. He agreed to it pretty easily as he said, “Now, your account number.” I gladly recited my account number to him. Fair enough, the King is a rich CEO so of course he has a lot of money. I wonder how much money would he give me? “Well then,” Rox shuffled his sitting position to sit straight. “I hope you don’t mind commuting to college.”

“I need you to believe that I would never abandon you.” “I know you’ll never abandon me Papa, but why are you talking like this?” Her eyes were already clouding with tears. Something must have happened when she gone. “And I’ll never do anything that will put you in harm’s way.” “You’re making me worried-” With a deep breath he finally looked at her, stroking the back of her palm that was still on her cheek. “You got a marriage proposal today.” “That hardly seems like a reason to worry. We both know I’m not ready for marriage. Besides, I’m not going to leave you all by your self.”

Kain’s POV The Council chamber felt smaller than usual, my brothers and six Alphas crowding the table. Garrick’s proposal lay between us like a trap already sprung. I’d read it twice, searching for a way out. There wasn’t one. “Bullshit,” Jax bellowed. “You can’t just demand Kain get engaged before the coronation.” “It’s a suggestion,” Garrick said, wearing that satanic smile. “The Elders agree,” he continued. “They believe it’s appropriate. Tradition.”

Chapter 70: Six Years Ago (2) "It is such an honor to be personally invited by the West Kingdom's princess," Head Minister Marlowe said with a light, proud smirk on his lips, bowing slightly. Victoria’s eyes never left the man who bore such a striking resemblance to Benjamin. Her heart tightened as she watched him being escorted to his seat, each step a painful reminder of her lost love. There was no mistake—this man is Benjamin’s father. "Head Minister Marlowe, I have a proposition," Victoria spoke directly, her voice shameless and desperate as soon as he was seated.

“May I?” I nodded, turning the screen slightly so he could see it better. As he leaned over to read, I gnawed on my lip, which was already picked to pieces. “Hm. An adoption incentive program,” he mused. “Interesting approach. You’re proposing financial support, tax benefits, and free resources for families that adopt rogue orphans?” “Is it too much?” I asked. “Well, not necessarily.” The King glanced at me. “Who are you intending to send the proposal to?”

Prince Nicholas demanded, his voice a mixture of shock and anger. “Your father was a nuisance, constantly thwarting my plans to kill him. But finally, we trapped him, leaving him no escape, and I seized my chance to end him. Enough of this,” General Victor declared with a dismissive wave of his hand. “Alex Dark King, I know you’re watching. I have a proposition for you. Eliminate Prince Nicholas, and I’ll reward you with $100 million. There will be no retaliation, as I intend to eradicate all of the King’s lineage.”
