James Banks sifted through heap Mountains of paper work his secretary had on his desk for him to read , muttering to himself as he tossed letters left and right . occasionally he would glance through some and shove it to a separate file requiring his attention . others he threw to a thrash beside his desk . I should be happy , he thought . Having discovered that one of his staff gives information to his competitors , he decided to change some of the old staff leaving the ones he trusted giving room for new ones including getting himself a new personal assistant .

That article would never see the light of day anyway. As my words registered, Drew's eyes brightened with surprise and relief. "What? Are you actually saying yes? Honestly, I was just venting…" We had our share of arguments over matters like this. Drew was well aware that I would never exploit my position or violate the rules. I smiled faintly and said, "Tammy's someone you grew up with. Of course, I want her to get better soon." With a firm nod, Drew expressed his heartfelt thanks. "I really appreciate your understanding. Since you're being so considerate, I'll make it official and propose to you when I get promoted next month."

"We all know what Celia wants." "Exactly. A life-saving debt ought to be repaid with marriage. Zac is about to give himself away!" Hearing the commotion around me, I finally snapped back to reality. I did not joyfully agree to his proposal as everyone expected. Instead, I withdrew my hand and looked at him calmly. "Zac, can I really ask for anything?" Zac paused for a moment. Then, he glanced at the pale pink scrunchie around his wrist as if an idea had struck him.

“ Alright then. I hope you haven't forgotten what discussed last night.” Quinn tilted his head in surprise. “ How come I don't recall” He walked up to the couch and took his seat. His right leg naturally went over his left leg. “ You...” Barbara took a deep breath to calm herself massaging her head. This son of hers would be the death of her. “ You're just so close to fulfilling your dream since you stepped up as the president of the company. ” She paused for a while reminding him of his desires.

“But Kingston? You think the most prominent Alpha King candidate wants this floating around during campaign season? That kind of thing spreads like wildfire. Especially among wolves.” My stomach turned. Not because of the threat to me. But because Kingston—who had saved me without hesitation—could be hurt because of this. I swallowed dryly, pushing down my pride. This wasn’t just about me. I had to do this. “All right,” I said quietly. “I’ll pay you.” Zach looked smug. “You’ve got two days.” The next morning, I submitted a request for an advance on part of my salary: ten thousand dollars, deducted over the next year.

I couldn't help but feel a chill run down my spine. I tried my best to break out of his grasp, yelling, "I didn't accept your proposal, which means I'm still not your fiancee! Let go of me, Kieran!" Kieran asked in a low yet aggressive tone, "Are you sure? I bought everything you're wearing! If you leave me, what will you have left?" I had to admit that even before I accepted Kieran's proposal, he had been buying me clothes and jewelry. I was dressed in his gifts from head to toe. Even if I told him I didn't want the gifts, he would convince me to accept them.

Because even though he and his companion, Easton, were clearly older than Romero they dare not offend or disrespect him in any way. “Why?” Wilson, the billionaire's PA asked with a frown seated on his face, why were they stopping the approval of the deal after coming so far? With a deep breath,Mr Jackson replied “Clause 6 states otherwise.” Romero retracted his gaze and followed down to clause 6. “It states that an individual willing to join the Old Wealth must be responsible-” “Excuse me?!” Wilson exclaimed with shock, he stared at both the old men and then to his boss.. End of story.” Although I didn’t like his proposal, upon careful thought, I realized he actually made sense. I asked her, feeling a little nervous. “You are the rightful Luna and deserve to rule your people, but it won’t be so easy. For years since you were not here, powers had shifted. In order to claim your rightful place as Luna, you have to marry the man who’s to become the next Alpha of our pack." She explained. The thought of marrying someone made me feel uneasy. My wolf, for one, flexed her muscles and growled at the thought of having another male who wasn’t our mate touch us. What would she have me do? It wasn’t my fault our mate rejected us.

“Tell Jeffrey to put the final touches on the proposal. I want it airtight. We should be ready to submit it to the president by Thursday.” This project mattered. More than any I had taken on before. People thought I was untouchable now, thought I had already peaked. They had no idea what was coming. When this went through, I would not just be another billionaire with influence. I would have the government in my pocket, whether they liked it or not. “Sir,” Hannah called after me, hesitating. “Mr. Jeffrey says the proposal is ready. He believes we could submit as early as Monday, and that it might be advisable to move quickly.”
