King's Bodyguard Novels & Stories

The man grinned at Killian and he grinned back. 'He' who did not unnerve the prince, as long as the noises cease, his identity is top-secret. KILLIAN opened his eyes and focused on Venom Forcas who looked exhausted while driving. It's barely two hours when he met the Beta who said he's his appointed bodyguard. To be honest, having a dog who would tail him every second is unnecessary. What could a bunch of lousy assassins do to him? He might look thin for a werewolf but he could wipe those worthless miscreants' existence if he wish to.

The leader’s cold yet intense aura could be felt. ‘A peak King of Arms.’ Harvey never thought that the bodyguard protecting Selena was a peak King of Arms, no less. But after thinking about the situation, this seemed quite normal as well. After all, with Selena’s identity, it would only be appropriate if a King of Arms was here to keep her safe. The aura of this man kept rising as he looked on coldly. It seemed like he was really about to take action if Harvey didn’t apologize and crawl out of the place.

Grigory had no idea why he would ask such question, he did not think Anton would notice Alexander so soon. “The man is Alexander, he’s Ana’s personal bodyguard.” He had wished the answer would satisfy Anton, but he should have known that the man would want to know much more. “Is he Russian too? The two of them appear to be very close.” That statement alone was enough for Grigory to understand what was going on in the mind of the powerful man before him. He took a deep breath and continued.

“Good evening, Miss Cecilia. I am Mike. I’m one of the King’s personal guards. He asked me to keep an eye on you until further notice.” My heart stopped in my chest. “Like a babysitter?” “I wouldn’t say a babysitter,” he said, frowning. “More like a protector of a sort. To keep you safe.” “You mean to keep me inside,” I said, folding my arms across my chest. “Is this the way the King expects me to stay in line?”

We work every day to be the best in everything. We knew that not only we were Maddison’s mates, but that position also came with a title attached: being the alpha king of the north. The best trained me and those were the four alpha kings and the queen’s guard, since she herself made me part of it. As a member of the Queen’s Guard, my life was dedicated to protecting and caring for the Sovereign Queen. Today, it was Queen Emma. But soon, it will be Maddison. Over the past sixteen years, the functions of the Queen’s Guard have mutated to make it effective. Therefore, its members belong to all the institutions of our society.

He stood up from his throne and followed the guard out of the throne room. As they exited the palace, the king could see a small crowd gathered outside. In the center of the crowd was a body, laid out on the ground. His heart skipped a beat as he recognized the body. It was Tom. The king felt a lump form in his throat as he approached the body. He could see the wounds on Tom's body, evidence of a brutal fight. He felt sick to his stomach as he realized that his best warrior had been killed right outside the palace gates.

The guards and bodyguard exchanged intense glances, their faces reflecting a mix of curiosity and apprehension. The royal bodyguard's voice took on a note of urgency, "Speak quickly, young man, what news do you bring from the city square? What of the king and our royal family?" The mourner's words spilled forth in a rush, "Rebellion, Saheb! A stranger, a charlatan, has appeared, slaughtering our people without mercy. The king, our lord, has fallen under this imposter's sway, as have the queens, princesses, and princes. They are all... entranced."

Honestly, I enjoyed this. “Clean this up.” “Yes, Prince.” answer my personal butler. I turned my back, “you all can come back to you rooms.” The servants bowed their heads to salute me before leaving the hall. I went back to my room, like nothing had happened. Kevin Lee, my personal butler and his teammates quickly cleaned up the chef’s body. The king deliberately created this team to protect and assist the heir to the throne. Even though they knew I could do it all on my own without their help. ***

“You were fighting to get to me. It’s not your fault.” “Is.” “I have the guards surrounding us, no one can penetrate their wall. You’ve trained with these males. You know them.” “Knew Blake.” “Blake is dead. As are the others. The threat to your mate has been eradicated,” Adam explained. “There’s others…” “Jaxson, was your Uncle a Royal Guard?” “No.” “Was your Uncle a Town Guard?” “No… he wasn’t a guard.” “He wasn’t. You’re right. What is a guard’s oath?”

"I don't meddle in your affairs, so why are you intruding in mine?" "Atlas, I was just checking because Ross is usually among the guards you bring to work. But today he's not here, and I asked…" Frowning, I drew forward from my seat and coldly uttered, "And again, I ask, 'Why do you care about this particular bodyguard of mine?" "There's no particular reason." Uncle King said, looking away from me. "Okay then, all you need to know is that I laid him off, and he went away for good."
