My voice fades slowly as I finish my story. Marael’s eyebrow goes up. “Kell? As in Kell Cross, brother of Mikhail Cross?” I nod my head, wary of her question. She throws her head back and claps boisterously. “Oh, this gets better and better.” She looks at a confused Taylor. “My former lover, Lukan, was obsessed with that Mikhail boy. For years he raged about his unwanted nephew and how he couldn’t wait to kill him. His obsession with the boy was almost boring.”
