DOM I was just about to turn in for the night when I heard a knock on my door. I sighed, dragging myself out of bed, wincing as my muscles protested. Practice had been brutal, my body sore and heavy like a goddamn lead weight. I had just gotten comfortable, and now someone was banging on my door like their life depended on it. What the hell? The knocking turned into pounding. I swore under my breath and yanked open the door, ready to chew out whoever it was—

My brother did not understand why anyone would choose a difficult path when he could make it easier. He also did not understand that constantly protecting me sometimes made me feel incapable. "It's a freaking door. You. Knock." "Your door was open."

KNOCK KNOCK A loud and hurried knock crashed against my door. Who could be on my door, it's barely morning. I gently walked to the door and partly opened the door. Glancing through the door, I was relieved to see Rowan. I really needed a friend right now. “What are you doing here by this time?” I asked. I couldn't care less though, I was just happy he was here. “Nothing really, I just wanted to check on you” Rowan is just a really great friend. I can't imagine how me and Zayne are so lucky to have a friend like him.

I still wanted to get into a good college after all and no one accepts a jailbird with open arms. I set my cases down by the door and stared at the huge iron-lion knocker which hung off of the large front door. A friggin knocker! Like it was the dark ages where no one knew what a door-bell was.
