Armani managed to push Dex towards the wall and grabbed Zaylee's body. "Armani lay her back there" "Sorry friend" Armani dashed out of the house. Dex's vision became bloody, he took out a bottle of wine by the counter and drank it all in a gulp. He shattered the bottle on the floor and began to pick up the pieces "Zaylee!" he yelled her name. The broken glasses had injured his skin and blood gushed out. "Zaylee!!" he yelled her name louder this time. He managed to get up but got his foot sliced by a bigger piece of the broken glass

A desperate, terrible option. Because in twelve days, the apocalypse would begin. The temperature would drop to negative forty degrees. Power would fail. Maya picked up her phone with trembling hands and opened her notes app. She began typing, planning, calculating. If she couldn't beat them before the freeze, she would survive it. And in the aftermath, when civilization had crumbled and the old rules no longer applied, she would make every single person who had hurt her pay.

Overall, it was beautiful and deceivingly idyllic. He mentally drew from that pool of liquid and felt the ice crawl through his veins with a thrilling chill. The air around him dropped in temperature and the blades of grass around his feet frosted over. He pushed out and felt the frost racing out in front of him towards his opponents. Kari opened his eyes while continuing to draw from his reserve of ice. He could faintly make out his tattoo glowing silver under his long sleeves at the edge of his vision. It pulsed brighter and brighter the more power he drew and held onto.

The blast wasn't fire; it was a wave of absolute zero that turned the air into a wall of needles. Kaerith stumbled behind them, her hands glowing with a dull, sickening silver light. She pressed her palms against Aradaa’s back, her teeth chattering so hard they sounded like stones in a jar. "I’m... I’m pushing the heat... but it’s not enough. The ice is digital, Kaelor! It’s eating the thermal energy!" "Into the caves! Move!" Kaelor kicked through a drift, his claws finding purchase on the slick stone of the Frozen Caves.

“The Council kept me cold. Said it kept my power _quiet_. Said if I got warm, I’d _break the world_.” He stopped 5 feet from Kieran. “Wanna see?” Kieran didn’t move. “No.” “Too bad.” Nero raised his hand. The entire sub-level _froze_. Walls. Ceiling. Gregor and the warriors, turned to ice statues mid-breath. Only Kieran wasn’t frozen. Because Nero was _looking_ at him. _Curious_. “You’re not afraid,” Nero said. “I’m terrified,” Kieran said. “But I’ve got a son who does _light_. A daughter who does _fire_. You do _ice_.”

Persephone growled, burning one of them. “Seems like this, dammit.” Zen hissed, his arm was already injured but he barely managed to save himself. “You guys go ahead. I will deal with it. Take Tristan away before he loses his mind again.” Freya said, holding her sword firmly, licking her lips in electrification. Near death experiences made her excited. She stabbed her sword in the nothingless, casting a spell, “Frozen!” Ice began to emerge from the ground, freezing the barghest surrounding them. Persephone used her flames to stop the ice from reaching them as they continued to run towards the other side.

“Are you joking? I wasn’t even sure how I managed to stay alive.” “The big boss won’t kill you. You’re a good asset, he won’t let you die if he thinks you’re still useful.” He stood and walked towards the fridge and when he came back, he had frozen peas in one hand. “Here.” He handed the bag of frozen peas and I shoved it against my back where it hurt most. “I prefer peas over anything else.” Mario shrugged. “They fit better to my back, knees, or shoulder, and when they’re hard they kinda massage my muscles like cold beads.”

Also, this book has such a grip on me that I can't even explain it. Just as I was about to continue reading "All the Bright Places," I heard a knock on the door. 'Yes, come in!" The substitute says. When the door opens, I am hit with the most amazing scent. It smells woodsy, and it makes my hormones turn haywire! "Mate! Mate! Mate!" Snow (my wolf) screams in excitement.
