The Regime (Book 2 of Kendra's Journey)

The Regime (Book 2 of Kendra's Journey)

Olga shuddered from the morning chill as she forced her body to climb out of the sleeping bag that she’d snuggled in throughout the night. It seemed abnormally cold to her. Was it? Or was she simply getting soft after living in the compound that Rex led them to with his jacuzzi bath and soft mattresses, only to relocate to the village that offered those luxuries along with amenities such as modern medical equipment and motorized tools. It made her forget that the majority of the planet was doing without these things. Center Land made it easy to forget the total devastation that the world struggled to recover from.

This is a really outstanding book, very well written. However I ran across a problem that completely disheartened me. I had read up to chapter 20 and when I went back the next day to resume where I had left off it put me right back at chapter 1.I can't pay again so I gave up and I loved this story.
Sharon Suttle
great love story, the name on the title doesn't quite fit. I find dex quite warm toward his gf. she's a bit confusing in her attitude but it works worth reading with exception unless the waiting 9n update becomes endless like 2 books I began and it has never been updated in weeks feel it won't. unfa

Darkest Shade Of Love

Darkest Shade Of Love

"Randhir replied to her.Sanyukta gave a smirk to Tanya. We have only two days to live fully this heaven..."he reminded them and the trio entered inside the mansion. "San please pick out our jackets..or else ..we'll die with hypothermia... God what a country.. a part is like a heating pan..on the other hand another is as cold as death...."Tanya said as the chill breeze passed straight away from their bodies. "San.. please I am staying in your room because I don't want to die in this chilly weather."Tanya said under her cluttering teeth.

Alpha's Wild Pet: His Prisoner of Passion

Alpha's Wild Pet: His Prisoner of Passion

“Many stores and homes here used the pack’s magic—my magic—to warm them in the coldest of weather, especially in well-known outdoor spaces like the one in front of the coffee shop earlier.” “But why do I still have the bite of cold in my fingertips?” I inquired. “That privilege only extends to the fortunate.” “I guess that’s why The City Under is a freezing hell,” I mused. He offered no explanation or apologies about it. “There are some traditions that are hard to change until now.” “And does that include killing Omegas and Slaves in unrelentless cold?” He leveled my furious stare. And in a heartbeat, something like worry flashed across his face. “I’ll hand over blankets to all the residents

The Cold ones. Part 1, In two worlds.

The Cold ones. Part 1, In two worlds.

But that smile I had soon vanished, because for the first time in my life, I wouldn’t be able to go out for that winter snow walk or do any of the things I love most this time of year. Me and Talon ate our breakfast as usual as he scoured through a black leather book and once I was done eating, I found myself standing at the large window, looking out and thinking of all that I’d be doing if I was at home. My mum would always bring out the fluffy woollen blankets and drape them on the couch, she’d buy us all new slippers and thick robes. If there were ever children playing a snowball fight, I wouldn’t hesitate to join in on the fun. Whatever scraps of food we had, I’d leave them all over our

The Tale Not Old As Time

The Tale Not Old As Time

While Florence exchanged pleasantries with her parents, Frederick had already claimed a seat at the table, eagerly awaiting breakfast. Despite the warmth in their home, the city outside seemed to be frozen in time. The usually noisy traffic was replaced by a hushed silence, broken only by the occasional crunch of footsteps on the snow-covered sidewalks. The lights from the buildings cast long, eerie shadows, creating a ghostly atmosphere. Even though the cold and the treacherous conditions, there was a certain beauty to the snowy landscape. The world was transformed into a winter wonderland, a place of peace and quiet. As the figure walked through the streets, everyone could not help but fee

Once Upon a Broken Moon: Alpha King is my Second Chance Mate

Once Upon a Broken Moon: Alpha King is my Second Chance Mate

But the Alpha already found one first, by the counter of the tavern’s bartender where he was serving the other patrons a full mug of— “Warm beer,” Alpha Vance suddenly mumbled. “That’s warm beer, not cold." He pointed to the beer dispenser. "Our world is already frozen even if we don’t feel it in our bones, so we definitely need something to warm up our souls.” Well, it does make sense: a warm beer in the middle of winter. Even if that winter is endlessly reigning over the skies and earth. “I’ll have a small glass,” I said with utter shyness and softness.

A Transmigrator’s Secret

This is so sad, I felt completely powerless and human out in this cold weather. I know for sure... There's no winning in his game; there's only surviving.

Mated To The Lycan King Who Can’t Let Go

Mated To The Lycan King Who Can’t Let Go

I closed my eyes, exhaled slowly, and stared at the ceiling. Ugh. This was going to be a long fucking ride. **** The moment my boots hit the platform, the cold bit like it had a problem with me. Snow whipped sideways, sharp and unrelenting, the wind howling through iron beams and carved stone like it was trying to peel the flesh off my bones. Everything was white and gray and moving too fast. The kind of cold that doesn't just chill you—it terrifies you. Will I ever be able to survive in a place that's cold year-round? Unclear. Unlikely.

The Perfect Wife Walked Away

The Perfect Wife Walked Away

[Alice’s POV] The Swiss winter wasn't just cold; it had a way of biting through you, a cruel precision that seemed to target the bones. I pulled my wool scarf tighter around my neck, trying to preserve the little heat I had managed to generate. It was a losing battle. My metabolism was burning through everything I ate, to feed the life inside me, leaving me perpetually chilled, perpetually fragile.
