She pulled out smoothly, the truck eating up the miles as they left the familiar grounds behind and headed toward Shadowbrook. The drive wasn't long, but the anticipation built with every turn. When they arrived in Capitola and pulled up to the restaurant, Nico's eyes widened. Shadowbrook sat nestled along the banks of Soquel Creek, its entrance tucked away like a hidden gem.
