, I replied and Mei smiled. "Okay, I have things to do. Mei, work your magic", Kai said and left. Mei smiled and sat next to me. "I want to know how you ended up with my awful brother", Mei said. "He saved me", I replied. "Save?", Mei asked wondering what I meant. "I tried to commit suicide but he saved me", I said trying not to make a eye contact.

Before I could breathe. I was alive. Barely. The ache in my chest was a sunburst of agony. I rolled onto my side with a ragged breath. “Tessa,” I rasped. Someone dropped to their knees beside me. “Still breathing, asshole,” Kira muttered. Her voice was tight - not with sarcasm this time, but fear. “She.. ?” I tried again, lifting my head. “Alive,” Kira said immediately. “But unconscious. She saved you. Blew half the fucking battlefield apart to do it.”

I press play, getting under the blanket. “I’m switching it” Luke grabs the remote from my hand. “Y’all are no fun” I whine, grabbing the popcorn bowls, refilling them. “Here” I hand them the bowls, sitting on the love seat again. They throw on some Marvel movie, gushing about how good it is. I huff, grabbing my phone and sending a text to Daniel. {D-Daniel K-Kisses} K:Come save me. D:What happened? Are you okay?

“Look at that, you’ve already made a friend.” Emma rolled her eyes. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, Mom.” I laughed, feeling the first small victory settle in my chest. One step closer. One step toward saving her. One step toward changing my fate.

Then a palm wrapped over my mouth from behind, and my head snapped back as an unknown guy pressed his index fingers tightly at the centre of his lips. He was asking that I keep it low. I swallowed, not knowing if I could trust him, but I nodded and I was soon swept into his arms, every bone in me going still as he pulled me away from the horrid scene and straight to the tent zone by taking a narrow bush path. My shoulders slumped in subtle relief the minute I saw people. “T-Thanks,” I said to the average height lean man as he dropped me to my feet. “Call me Max.”

Vanessa gave a weak but radiant smile. "I want to thank the doctors who saved my life. Without them, my baby and I wouldn't be here today."

"If I didn't save you that time, what will happen to you?" Niccolo asked her wife as they lay down in their soft and comfy bed. It's twelve midnight, but they are still awake. Casey looked at her husband's eyes and smiled. She shrugs her shoulders and said, "I don't know what will happen to me that time. Thank God because you saved me from being hopeless. You saved me, Mr. Billionaire. My husband saved me and I was so thankful for that."
