"You are lying. Lie down, Jade." I blinked, my pulse quickening. "What?" "You are knotted with tension," he said, his expression unreadable but his eyes burning. "I am going to give you a massage. No arguments." I stared at him, searching for a sign that he was joking, but Killian Montclair did not joke about things like this. I nodded slowly, my legs feeling like jelly as I walked toward the bed. I lay face down on the cool silk sheets, the towel loosening beneath me. I heard the soft click of a bottle, the scent of expensive warming oil filling the air, and then the bed dipped.

Then— "Hrrgh..." A violent retching sound comes from the bathroom. I almost grin. Right on cue. I follow the sound. Kei is bent over the toilet. My body looks terrible. Dark circles stain the skin beneath my eyes. My hair is a complete mess. He grips the toilet so tightly his knuckles have gone white. He retches again. Nothing comes out except bitter saliva. "Hrrgh..."
