My gaze shifted to the woods; darkness trembled and twisted before finally solidifying.
The creature stepped into the clearing, its massive, twisted form illuminated by the faint moonlight. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen—part wolf, part something far darker. Its fur was matted and black as tar, its eyes glowing with an unnatural crimson light.
Warriors stood crushed together, armed with weapons. Randall made a low rumbling noise, and his wolf surged for dominance.
