Then I will leave and not bother you anymore.” The words of a mysterious language came out of Miren's mouth in an instant, and at the same time, she closed her eyes. Lucas's hold on the situation was immediately lost when the body of Miren suddenly emitted a brilliant light. As quickly as he could, Lucas moved backward, away from the brightest beam of light. He gave what Miren had just used a serious evaluation, and almost immediately, Lucas understood what it was that she had just used.

By some miracle, Lillian reached me before they did.” “Praise the gods,” Cedric breathed, pulling her close once more, his hold fierce with fear barely past. “The Moon Goddess has shown mercy this day—I dared not think what might’ve come to pass.” Milicent laughed gently, though his words stirred unease within her. His joy, so sincere, could cease any moment.

“Not ready for what?” “For any of this.” My voice was firm, but there was something fragile underneath it. “Not for love. Not for mates. Not for any of it.” Lucian’s expression didn’t change. He studied me for a long moment before murmuring, “You think the Moon Goddess made a mistake, don’t you?” I swallowed hard. “I don’t just think it,” I whispered. “I know it.” Lucian took a deep breath before speaking one last time. “The Moon Goddess doesn’t make mistakes, Mira.” His voice was strong, unwavering. “And neither did fate when it brought us to you.”

He could see something was happening, could feel the strange pull of Mira's presence, but he didn't understand what it meant. "Mira," Lucian said carefully, his voice filled with wonder and certainty. "Do you know what you are?" "I'm a pregnant woman who's tired of being fought over," she snapped, but her words carried that strange resonance again, making several wolves actually whimper in response. I shout in shock as Liberty pushes off my leg with one hand and tries to stand whilst clutching her pup to her chest. “Doc said we need to get to the maternity unit ASAP, and my legs are killing me from laying on this rock.” She says it with such a matter of fact tone. Does she mot realise she was at deaths door only moments ago? Lottie, Esme, the Doc and I all share the same quizzical look. I think the Doc hit the nail on the head. Every time Liberty interacts with magic she discovers something new, or another danger is realised. I’m not sure how much more we can take.
