I took a step forward, my feet moving of their own accord. Chase's growl was low and warning. "Elodie, no!" But I couldn't stop. The light was mesmerizing, its gentle dance weaving a spell around me. I felt myself becoming lost in its depths, my senses blurring. Chase's arms wrapped around me, holding me back. "Elodie, snap out of it!" I struggled against his hold, my body straining towards the warehouse. The light was calling to me, its siren song that only I seemed to hear, irresistible.

My pups were taken straight up to the nursery to be checked out as I wait for my mate. Kyle waited with me as I drilled him about how Chase got injured. He confronted Jacob and told him the truth about how they created a serum that prevents me from suffering any pain from his sexual escapades. And he told him I was pregnant with his pups and Jacob went all crazy and there were hidden rogues around Jacob and a few along with Jacob gained up on Chase. They were outnumbered but were able to get Chase away before they killed him. The rogues ran off and they were able to catch Jacob and take him down into the cells. They have him shackled with silver shackles. But Chase was already badly injured.

"What the hell do you think you’re doing, Chase?” A shadow passed over his face, and his eyes narrowed. “Kidnap? Really, Cynthia? You were stupid enough to let Valeria and Reese catch onto our tracks. They were close. Too close. I had to do something before you got us all killed.” The words hit me like a physical blow, and I flinched as the memories began to slot into place in jagged fragments. The chase through the woods, the frantic escape, the moment I lost consciousness after Chase injected me... It all came rushing back in a flood of terror and confusion.

yesterday. Chase heads to the first cell, unlocks it, and grabs one of the girls, hauling her up. He starts to undo her restraints while Oric and I continue scanning the dungeon. Then I catch movement out of the corner of my eye. I see Chase bend down, and I don’t think much of it until a whimper breaks the silence and fear spikes so hard it’s like a taste in the back of my throat. I snap my gaze back to him and see his hand shoved under the girl’s rags.

“It wasn't beeping when we came here, can someone explain why they were beeping?“ Kyle asked “The DNA vaccine have been administered” “So does that mean trouble?“ Sean asked “I don't know. Sarah, can you get into their mind, maybe there will be any vital information!“ Okay, and she stared deeply into one of the lab rats. After a while she stopped looking and faced them “Nothing, it's like their minds are locked, I tried compelling them to unlock their mind…” “Did they do it?“ Sean interrupted “Yes, but what I find is tragic, all these people here were kidnapped and lured to this prison, and they locked their minds, from thinking or remembering who they were!“

It was Assassin Nine from Martial Soul Hall who had been waiting for Chase to show up. Chase appeared next to Enola and the rest in a flash. He pressed everyone’s acupoint to unseal their cultivation. “You should run, Master Collins. This is a trap for you. Leave us here!” Lola said. Chase replied calmly, “I know that, but I can’t stand by and watch all of you suffer on my behalf.” Enola tried to talk him into leaving as well. “Don’t worry about me, Chase. Leave now.” Chase had made her run that day on the streets, and she never saw him after that. Enola thought something had happened to Chase, but she got caught instead. Enola found out Chase had escaped after that.

“Because we’ve survived.” Finn puffed up. “I’ve survived too. I got kidnapped. Once.” Lucian gave him a long look. “Congratulations.” Chase let out a breath that was half laughter, half pain. “Can you two not start a war in my tent?” Lucian’s eyes flicked to him. “This is not your tent. It’s Elena’s.” That made my chest tighten. I lifted my head slowly, looking at Chase. His face was pale, tired, but steady. His eyes were locked on me like he was afraid I’d vanish if he blinked.

I went into the hallway, it was quiet, and for a second, I thought I had woken up way too early, or maybe it was a trap. I should have turned back to the room, but I went straight ahead to the study. Just as I reached for the handle, a strange hand over my mouth. I tried to scream, but it didn't escape my throat and mouth. The other hand folded my arms behind me and dragged me backwards. What was this? A simulation to see if I would survive being kidnapped? Has Chase gone insane? I wanted to scream, I was scared, but I knew my screams and kicks wouldn't do anything.

He turned to flee down a side tunnel. "After him!" Chase shouted. We gave pursuit, our footsteps pounding against the stone floor. The tunnel twisted and turned, the air growing colder and damper. The echoes of our chase bounced off the walls, creating a disorienting cacophony. "He's leading us into a trap," Chase warned, his eyes darting around for any signs of danger. "I don't care," I retorted. "We can't let him get away." We burst into another chamber—a dead end. Sebastian stood in the centre, a wicked smile on his face.

“ Have fun, you two. Don’t forget to use protection. “ Alex rumbled and strode out of the room. After Alex left the room, silence lasted for a moment and Chase spoke. “ You are mine from today. You are no longer Raven to me. I will call you, my Barbie doll …” He uttered and Raven glanced at him before averting her eyes. She was calm on the outside, but I could see through her soul. Her eyes were embedded with fear. Chase Roland drew closer to my mate and her heart raced over. “ You will be my slut, my little dirty secret who will fulfill all my hidden desires.“ He chuckled and grabbed Raven by the chin, lifting her face to meet his.
