Screens lined the walls, displaying data I could not read. Glass containers held liquids in every color imaginable. The air smelled of metal and chemicals and something vaguely electrical. Vex stood at the center of it all, surrounded by a small crew of assistants in white coats. They were gathered around a large table, and from the looks on their faces, whatever experiment they were running was not going well.
