Screens lined the walls, displaying data I could not read. Glass containers held liquids in every color imaginable. The air smelled of metal and chemicals and something vaguely electrical. Vex stood at the center of it all, surrounded by a small crew of assistants in white coats. They were gathered around a large table, and from the looks on their faces, whatever experiment they were running was not going well.

It’s dingy and the air feels dry despite having liquids randomly dripping from the clammy ceiling. Kaiser focused his attention towards the light at the end of the tunnel-like cell, trying not to get distracted by the figures humping and twisting, groaning with lust.

It was deliberate. Lira quickly removed her coat and gestured for Malcolm to put the rat inside. “Let's contain it,” she said, her eyes locked on the creature. Malcolm nodded and carefully placed the rat into the coat, securing it tightly. “Let’s go to the laboratory to check it.”

Leo was in the van, ready to pull us out if things went sideways.
