But unlike Lily, Nyx was lazy, calm, quiet, and an unapologetic sleepyhead. At first, I thought something was wrong. She barely reacted to toys or noises. I took her for multiple tests, expecting the worst, but the vets insisted she was perfectly healthy. Their final verdict?

You condition is already one where your health has always been poor." The woman stood slowly and lifted her head up. Her arms were joined in a gentle manner befitting her lowly status. But her words were intended to bite. "I never decided that I wanted to be a cat or to be apart of any of this. Niana explained that her kind had a deep connection to their feline nature, with their agility, independence, and a strong sense of family bonds. She shared stories of her family's history and the different werecat clans that roamed the world. I listened with fascination, eager to broaden my horizons beyond the world of wolves that I had always known.
