Luella threw her head back and roared with laughter and said, “Is he stupid?” “Yep,” Fiona chuckled. Dennis ran to the window and looked out, “The fields are loaded with them.” “Back away from the window, my love. Zombies can hypnotize someone who isn’t magical. I need you to help me so please, back away before you’re worthless,” Luella barked.

After that, he turned around and gave the Sacred Spring Water to Fiona, who he said needed "recovery." Vivian wiped her tears and looked at him coldly. "You took her only chance to survive and gave it to someone else. You killed Daisy!" When Vincent heard those words, he started shaking. His strength gave out, and he dropped to the floor. "So she really was sick... I thought she was just causing trouble. I killed her..." Then something seemed to hit him. He lifted his head suddenly. "Soul Decay Syndrome is a fatal condition caused by long-term depression and emotional distress. Daisy was my Luna. She never suffered like that. How could she have gotten something like this?"

Actual laughter, rolling around the room like I’d told a joke. “She really doesn’t understand, does she?” one elder said, wiping his eyes. “Show her.” Two men stepped forward, and to my horror, started stripping. A freak show. It had to be a freak show.

Munch… Crunch… Suddenly, a chewing sound came from around the corner. Julian was stunned and poked half his head out to look. By the elevator, a zombie in a torn Armani suit was crouched on the floor, gnawing on a corpse that had long since become unrecognizable. As if it had smelled fear coming off a living person, the suited zombie suddenly went still. It slowly turned its head. Its cloudy, pale eyes locked onto Julian. A long, dark red piece of intestine was still hanging from the corner of its torn mouth.

[Juliet's POV] The music at the celebration party continued. Surrounded by a crowd, Alison basked in the crowd's repetitive praises. Suddenly, a deafening boom came from the city walls. Overlapping growls and roars of zombies tore through the atmosphere. Terror erupted instantaneously. People in the crowd screamed, "It's a swarm of zombies! A massive swarm of zombies!" A guard ran over, staggering along the way. "The lightning barrier on the right of the base has been breached. There's a massive gap. Zombies are coming through soon!"

I'd never love a woman with no brains like you! He pulled up the ladder entirely and disappeared into the vent. The zombies were getting closer now. I could hear their roars even from where I stood. I shot down a couple that got too close. Through the corner of my eye, I saw Yvonne stood petrified, and she was shaking all over. A zombie lunged at her. I thought it would tear her apart, but Yvonne rolled out of the way, then she snapped up a metal pipe and smashed it down on the zombie.

It all seemed to mock my weakness. My mind replayed the altercation relentlessly. I saw Rykor's eyes, how they flickered with a mix of shock and something else, something I dared not name. His pack’s faces, previously bright with warmth, turned mute with disillusionment. Blood pounded in my ears as I curled onto the floor, my body racked with silent sobs. Anyone or anything I touched died. The marks on my skin stood as a grotesque testament to my cursed existence—a tattooed ledger of my sins. Could I ever escape the sense of dread, or would I forever be the Luna of Death, feared and isolated?

“What is wrong with you?” “She’s covered in paint.” I shrugged and could almost see smoke coming from her ears. This was way too much fun. “You might want to work harder on your image.” She sneered. “Maybe you can help me then,” I said, faking excitement. “What do you think a luna is supposed to look like exactly?” “Try to carry yourself with some dignity. Alphas grow tired of their mates rather quickly.” I wanted to slap the smirk off her face, but her daughter was right there. And even though this little girl was her mother’s accessory, it was still her mother.
