Alarmed, Zen chased after the new lamb with a nametag above it. “Catch it!” he yelled at Oritha, who was coming from the other side of the road. Not asking any questions, Oritha stood still and scooped the lamb up with ease. The startled lamb tried to butt her with its head, but Oritha only squeezed the misbehaving kid with a wide grin. “This is the last one,” she declared. “They found the other one hiding in the school’s vegetable garden, chasing moths. Let’s go. Gorski and Angeloff are waiting.”

She wasn’t happy about the dinner and even though she missed him too, Morana wanted to make sure he knew it. “I need to marinate the lamb for tomorrow, I was told I needed to prep it at least eight hours before cooking” she said, peeled herself from his hold, how she missed his warmth but she wasn’t going to let herself be charmed by him.
