“Wrong Lucien.” I argue. “Where there is grief, there was love. Grief is mourning something that used to be there but it's no longer present. And besides, I meant grief as in grieving our child. My baby-” I pause, trying to hold back tears threatening to fall. If a tear mistakenly falls through, a dam will be open. I can't start crying here in the open.
