“I look forward to it.” As the evening progressed, Lavinia found herself not just settling into her role, but excelling at it. She conversed easily with the other guests, drawing on her extensive reading and her years of observing high-society interactions from the periphery. When asked about her background, she spoke confidently about her education and her work at Wynthorne Enterprises, positioning herself as an accomplished professional rather than merely Henry’s assistant.

Her lips curve, then she turns to me. Something in the woman’s smirk changes. A darkness steals over her features, like she’s thinking of something bad. “I am Lavinia, the Vampire King’s assistant. We are pleased to have you here. We have been waiting for you. Please, follow me.”

That moment, the Lavinia in front of him was different, she was not the sweet and daring lady, she was the vampire Lavinia. “Who dared to play a trick on me?”

Lavinia’s gift is special to her, she can hypnotize a group of people and when she adds her voice to her hum, she can then not only erase proceeding events but she can manipulate the event and make them believe what she wants them to believe happened. Lavinia walks around the Boutique as she sings, removing the meeting of her and replacing it with just some blurred female face. She leaves the male that came with her and was the closest to the female until last, as she knows that his memory is going to be the hardest to change. There was something more there, as even now she can feel him fighting her gift.

Lena's POV. “Hello, ma'am,” the doctor waved his left hand, and felt my pulse with his right hand. “How many fingers am I holding up?” “Can I get a name? Can you speak?” He continued, not even giving me a chance to think or respond. He suddenly stopped and pointed a little fluorescent light in my eyes. I squinted and groaned inaudibly from lying stiff for far too long. “Four, My name is Lena, and I think I can… talk,” I replied in a second, gulping as the man behind him moved closer and fixed his gaze on me.

Ash wasn’t sure if Lavinia was actually taller than her (she wasn’t) but the woman just seemed to stand over her, literally and figuratively. Lavinia spoke with authority and moved with a dancer’s grace. With her wavy black hair, curling softly about her shoulders, she looked regal: the rightful and noble queen of a castle. To Ash, even her name sounded fancy: Lavinia. And yet, Mrs. Guzman was also warm and motherly. “It’s not too tight, is it?” Lavinia asked. “No, ma’am,” Ash replied.

She seemed like she wasn't interested in whatever was going on. "Hi." Juliet smiles out. "Juliet meet Madison and Alison!" Christopher introduces. "I think I might get confused!" Juliet laughs. "You won't." The friendly one says. "She has lighter skin and a very tiny voice! I'm Alison by the way." She says. "Nice meeting you Alison." Juliet smile, she turns to Madison who just nods at her. She mouths hi. All this while Ana and Trisha stood at like third parties. "Where is Alexs?" Christopher asks with a calm smile.

A little disappointment was noticed in his voice, when turning to his brother for opinion. The brother said something too, in the same tone and that was it. But Magdalena was not punched this time. This incident and many more like this were mostly what she remembered from her childhood. I said "mostly," because she had an aunt too, aunt Tamia, who had somehow managed to stay respected in the family because she had a facial defect and everyone believed this was a god mark on her, and that's why they let her find a work. Tamia had opened a tiny souvenir shop in the center of the village and traded with different staff, including the dolls she got for the girls.

I murmured. “Speak of the devil.” Detective baker frowned. I looked in the direction of where he was looking and saw a woman in a suit walking toward us. She had a friendly smile painted on her face, but I had a feeling we wouldn’t be the best of friends. “Detective Baker, long time no see,” she beamed. “I prefer it that way,” detective Baker grumbled. He still hadn’t returned her smile. So they must have some kind of history there. She looked at me. “You must be Marina Davis,” she said. “I am Special Agent Danna Halman. You can call me Danna or agent Danna.”

Caleb gripped the steering wheel tightly. “Caleb?” Through clenched teeth, he said, “She was a redhead, Diana. He’s a red lupus garou looking for a mate. There must be a shortage of eligible females in the area.” Diana's throat felt parched as if she’d crossed the Badlands without a lick of water.
