I said quietly, my voice dropping into a calm that did not match the storm inside me.
Greg leaned further back into his chair, folding his arms across his chest as though settling in for entertainment. “I am,” he replied. “Because I know where I stand. And more importantly, I know where you don’t.”
I took a slow step closer to the desk.
“You’re sitting on something that was never yours,” I said. “And you think legality protects you.”
“It does,” he countered immediately. “Documents, contracts, ownership transfers. All signed, all verified. Whatever story you’ve convinced yourself of doesn’t change that reality.”
