Chapter Eighty-Five Laila POV When i opened my eyes after lighting up the last channel and stepped out of the room no one was there, no Atlas, or Ares and not even Miera. The place was darker and the candles were lit throughout the hallway. I closed the door behind me and made my way to the room, but a soft hissing caught my attention, it was sharp and precise that i had started following the sound that when i reached the end of the hallway i realized how far off it was. My hearing was definitely sharper than before, the hissing got consistent behind the large oak doors which had golden handles, like a magnet drawn to metals, i reached for it when a voice said from behind me.

Hearing that Leila was taken to a witch scared me a lot, I couldn't believe my ears, I couldn't even imagine how scared and terrified she must be right now. All I could do was step back staring at Dean in shock. I could feel my mind drifting off to Leila, her soft and delicate features, her soft skin that glistened beautifully under the moonlight, her beautiful eyes that shone like diamonds. Her silky hair flowing down her bare shoulders, and her small waist. I knew Shantel took her out of jealousy and I had somehow wondered how Leila was taken so easily. Hearing that it was a witch that took her, scared me a lot.

If that is the case, Kira might be plotting against them. Leila snapped her fingers, she would never allow someone like Kira outrun her in the race of deceit. Tapping on her phone, she dialed Mira. Mira picked on the second ring. “Where are you?” Leila blurted “I'm at home and I definitely have some good news for you.” Mira giggled That had Leila feeling much at ease. “Really?” “Yes.” “Tell me all about it.” “So, I kept watch over the bar until I saw her go in. Biding my time, I went in on them and ensured she was disgraced to a fault.”

Stupid her. Walking to the gates with no clear destination in mind, she slowed when her phone rang. Before retrieving the phone from her bag, she knew it was Freya, and she was right. She kept close to the curb, the honks of cars zooming past her muffled by the earbuds she plugged in. “You finally picked up,” Freya said. “What about your date?” “He died,” she said. “Where are you?” “What? How?” Leila paused to think up a better reply. There were more people here, and they all brushed past her without so much as a glance in her direction. That was the beauty of Nightfall Hills, California. They were always too busy minding their business.

There's no reply but Ollie's body starts to shake violently on the bed, the change happening quicker than I've ever seen it before. "No, no, no, it hurts. Stop." Ollie's voice is stricken with fear and pain as he tries to stop what's happening to him. He turns terrified, wide eyes on Flame. "Leila, please, I've changed my mind. I get it now, I'm sorry, please, please, stop this." "I can't." She cries and as she turns to look at me for help, I see the guilt and the worry all over her face.

It could be Julia, we haven’t spoken since our dinner on Sunday. I picked up my phone, it was an unknown number. Who could it be? “Hello?” “Is this Imogen?” the woman spoke hurriedly, panting like she had been running. She sounded terrified. “Leila? Is that you?” “Yes. They are after me! I need your help!” “Calm down, Leila.” She sniffled. “They killed Mark!” she broke into tears. Who is Mark? “Where are you?” She sniffled. “I can’t tell you that. Can you meet me tomorrow? I want to make these monsters pay!”
