'There was a sudden deem lights, Phelan remembers someone, who was Don Carlton telling her to go lay down and rest. She tried to refuse, but he was too strong, and she was unable to stop him. It was so sudden that Don stood, watching Phelan in a distant approached her in a smile that shed some lights in the deem lights that came from the window. A meter from Phelan, Don put his hands on her shoulders, and then made an excuse and left.

A mass of blonde hair sat atop a tall, imposing figure. “Ruby, please leave. I’ll come to you later,” Clinton said, but I barely heard him. The blonde man turned toward me, causing my body to freeze in shock. Kael fucking Leonard. What was he doing here? Was this the reason both the Gamma and Beta had refused me entry? “Well, well, well. If it isn’t my lovely mate,” Kael sang with a smirk. “I’ve been waiting so long for you. Come here, love. I’ve come to take you home.”

He saw stars, and blood gushed from his mouth and nose. The crisp sound of the slap startled Stella and Malcolm. Their bodies trembled as they stared in disbelief. What was happening? Glen was hitting Joshua? Didn't he step up to kill the Lesters for Joshua's sake? "S-sir, why...?" Joshua, bloodied and dazed, struggled to comprehend the situation. "Calling Mr. Lester crap? You, a mere worm, dare to insult someone as great as him?!" Glen roared, his anger uncontainable. "Even I have to bend over backward for him! You ants really don't know your place!"

An icy chill creeps up my spine. “Something isn’t right,” I growl, looking to the others as they tuck away their wolves and shift, the bewildered expressions on their faces matching my own confusion. Just then, someone comes through the trees toward us. I recognize him as one of Cole’s warriors- the one who was leading squadron six beside me. He’s moving slow, clutching his stomach, and it doesn’t take long to see why. The poor guy has been split open; his guts are spilling out around his arm. It’s a miracle that he’s even on his feet.

I mean, he had nothing to do with them, and they did their best in protecting me, or was there something else going on? "I gladly accept all punishment, sir." Mr. Louis heavily dropped to his knees while both I and Kelly's mouth hung open in disbelief.

Nathan asked, glaring at the Lycan who raised his hands in surrender, keeping his eyes on Nathan who I knew was already raging inside as he thought of the possibilities of his answers “stop with the fucking puzzles, and speak up” “Your beta, Carter…”

They wanted to show her that this is no simple job that she chose to clung onto just because she is the wife of Alexander. But Gabbie is not getting any realization of regret since the challenges they offered only showed her how obnoxious people can get. Nevertheless, she's sorry for her team since they are the ones who are unarmed catching bullets. Maybe the boy had to run errands again that's not included in his line of work. He had to follow because he does not know the words related to refusal.

Cornelius came and stood in front of me. “Lynn, I am the Don of the Roman mafia. I will protect you. Now tell me everything.”

I shot him a glare. “Hi, nice to meet you. I’m Dennis, his best friend and of course the Beta of the pack. Let’s get along well. And oh, don’t you worry too much about Arthur here, he can be a pain in the neck sometimes but he is cool, trust me…” Dennis stepped forward and extended his hand to her. She glared at his hand for a while but took it, much to my surprise. “Eleanor.” She added after taking his hand.

I asked dad. “He’s waiting for his Luna,” dad smiled. We head down to the ceremony, they played an instrumental song, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”, I love that song, at least it keeps things flowing, just hearing crickets would make it all worse I’d think. “Are you ready Remi?” Mia asked. “Together?” I ask. “Together,” Mia replied. “I’m so thankful for you Mia, that I have you to confide in and be there with me no matter what.”
